- For Kittens under 6 months of age: For daily administration give 1/4 teaspoon (1.35g), providing 250mg of L-Lysine, twice daily or as directed by a veterinarian.
- For Cats 6 months and older: For daily administration give 1/2 teaspoon (2.7g), providing 500mg of L-Lysine, twice daily or as directed by your veterinarian.

seems to work well
My cat Angie suffers from IBS so I can't use any of those Lysine kitty treats, she got ill from all of them :( This gel was my last hope because I just can't pill this cat!
I give her 1/4 tsp of the gel in a syringe (get them at CVS) twice a day, squirt it into the side of her mouth, and it seems to keep her upper respiratory infections at bay. If I slack off, they come back.

Great product
I rescued a kitten and he spent a week with my Vet, who gave him a clean bill of health but he didn't check him for Herpes and of course he has it and gave it to my two healthy cats. I find that this product helps to keep them healthy when they have a flare up and I have no problem getting them to take the medicine since I just mix it with their food. By the way the kitten is a joy to have so full of life and so cute everyone loves him (gabriel)

This product really helped and he is clear of skin issues at this time. We have been using this twice daily for a bit over 2 months. It is easy to use a syringe to get the dosage and deliver it straight into the cats mouth. He would not just lick it up or clean his paws but he does not fight it. -

Found something that works.
From Marquette, MI, USAComments about ViralysI adopted a male cat, I named Hemingway who was about 6 years old. The cat was left outside for several months after the homeowners left. He may have gotten out when they moved and they couldn't fine him. He was in really bad shape and had an upper respiratory infection, fleas with most of his hair scratched off and worms. When the humane society took him in they put him an all kinds of medication but couldn't stop his constant sneezing, running eyes and nose. It was so bad that he was constantly in discomfort. Hemingway was adopted before I took him in but because of his constant sneezing and symptoms he was returned. Since Hemingway has been on Viralys his symptoms have improved immensely. I give him the dry viralys in his wet cat food in the morning and the jel form at night orally. It's getting to the point that I may be able to stop the second treatment at night. He has been on Viralys for over a year and a half. I googled other cats with his symptoms and Viralys was highly recommended. Hemingway may have to be on it the rest of his life. Hemingway is a wonderful can and seems to know how much he is loved. -

We have been using the lysine gel for our two cats. We purchased from our vet. However, I noticed when I purchased this product online, the ingredient listed on the tube shows 250 mg Lysine per dose, however the tube from my vet indicates 500 mg per dose. Do you sell a gel product with 500 mg lysine?

Viralys (L-Lysine) is available as a powder and a gel. The primary difference between the two is in the administration. The powder is typically sprinkled over wet or dry food, while the gel is usually administered on its own. For cats six months and over, one rounded scoop (provided) of powder twice daily is recommended by the manufacturer, while 1/4 teaspoonful of gel twice daily is suggested for the gel.
