For example, a medication may be in short supply, or we simply may no longer be able to get it from our distributors. Speak to your veterinarian about alternatives to Tri-Otic as there are products that may be recommended in its place.

my dog was treated for ear infection with tri-oitic ointment does this cause loss of hearing. He is unable to hear ever since he has been treated with this.?

According to the manufacturer, the use of tri-otic ointment has been associated with deafness or partial hearing loss in a small number of sensitive dogs (eg. older dogs). The hearing deficit is usually temporary. If hearing dysfunction is noted during the course of treatment, discontinue use of tri-otic ointment immediately and flush the ear canal thoroughly with a non-ototoxic solution. Please contact your veterinarian to further assess your dog's hearing loss.

My 6yo Lab mix is experiencing some hearing loss after using product for approx 2 days. Took him to emergency vet today and they said to discontinue and switched him to an oral anti fungal; did not want to flush his ears as they saw a some "goop" near eardrum. His demeanor is definitely different, seems a little confuses, needy/attention seeking, possibly hallucinating (intensely staring at same spot).

My dog was first prescribed VetOne Gentizol but I ran out recently. The vet now prescribed Tri-Otic Ointment with new instructions. Before it was 3 drops on each ear twice a day for two weeks and now with Tri-Otic it's 5 drops on each ear, twice daily, for 10 days. Why more drops?! Is it because its a different medication. I'm so confused. The vet says to follow the instructions.?
