Tri-otic Ointment for Dogs
For powerful treatment of canine ear infections at a budget-friendly price, ask your veterinarian for Tri-otic ointment, the generic form of Otomax. This soothing cream quickly relieves your dog’s painful, swollen, and itchy ears.
- Treats ear infections due to bacteria and yeast
- Reduces inflammation, pain, and itching
- Also helps reduce ear wax production
Powerful Tri-otic ointment is effective because it blends three antimicrobials into one medication for treating ear infections. This combination of gentamicin sulfate, betamethasone valerate and clotrimazole work together to stop bacteria and yeast, which are the source of infections, while soothing the symptoms including pain, swelling, and annoying itching.
What you should know about Tri-otic ointment for dogs:
- You may need to clean and dry your dog’s ears before applying this medication.
- Follow dosing directions exactly - don’t give your dog more medication than directed and don’t skip doses.
- Read the label carefully for information about storage, possible side effects, and drug interactions.

Happy with Tri-Otic
From Lewisburg, KYComments about Tri-Otic OintmentWe have a GSD that suffers with allergies that sometimes affects her ears. We use Tri-Otic for a couple of days when she is really struggling & it clears her itchiness right up. -
Works very well
From Pasadena, CAComments about Tri-Otic OintmentI don't have to take my dog to the vet anymore because now I can just buy this ointment through VetRx. It was the same exact medicine my dog's vet prescribed except 75% cheaper. Twice a year my dog has the same ear problem and I was spending $160 each visit and finally I got smart and checked online. I found the same exact ointment in the same colored tube. -

Great for my dog's chronic dry eyes.
From Raymore, MOComments about Tri-Otic OintmentMy dog likes to have it applied to his eyes. He will need it twice a day for the rest of his life. That's going to get expensive! -
Again, It Works
From GeorgiaComments about Tri-Otic OintmentI have used this product before and it worked, so I ordered it again and I am getting the same results. My dog has an ear infection that has only healed with this product sold to me by my vet initially. It was too expensive so I'm glad I found it here. My vet never gave me this product again when my dog got other ear infections, always different products. I decided to order it from here (once I found this place) to save money and to get the product that worked for my dog before. Even though it has a nozzle to use for application, it's still a bit difficult to get it into my dog's ears because he moves around a lot. Luckily, he's a small dog so I can hold him still by myself. -

Q & A

i have a 25g of this dont have papers to say how much to use and for how long?
-
John, The pharmacy that dispensed the prescription should have included the directions for use from your veterinarian on the prescription label. You might find them on the tube itself, or the box that the Tri-Otic came in. In the event that you do not have the label for the Tri-Otic any longer, your pet's veterinarian would be the best resource for supplying you with the directions for use for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Kim, As with most medications, Tri-Otic does have an expiration date. I need to purchase tri otic ointment for my dogs ears. Do I need a prescription before ordering??
-
Vandee, Tri-Otic Ointment is a prescription drug requiring authorization from your pet's veterinarian. You do not need a prescription before ordering this product online, but we would need to obtain the authorization before shipping your order. For future reference, an orange 'Rx' symbol appears to the right of the product name near the top of any prescription drug product page. Thank you, VetRxDirect

How Long Is The Ointment Good Until? I Purchased Some In 2010?
-
Lisa, The expiration dates of Tri-Otic can be found on the end of the tubes or on the back of the label on the bottles. It's important not to use medication beyond its expiration date and you should only give medications as directed by your pet's veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect

What is the difference between the two??
-
Sara, We contacted the manufacturer to be certain and they confirmed, the product is exactly the same for both the bottles and tubes. The question is do you prefer to apply Tri-Otic Ointment from a plastic bottle with applicator or a metal tube with applicator. Your pet's veterinarian can help you decide on the best variation. Thank you, VetRxDirect
