Excellent Product
Once you understand the deworming procedure - give the dewormer over a three-day period then again in three weeks and again in three months, it's easy to switch to a home deworming. This is the exact same Panacur that comes from your vet, but this one is much cheaper. I combined two different dosage amounts for my dogs, and the amounts are easy to look up online. I'm so glad to have found this website.

Great service/Great product/Great price
From Stockton, CA, USAComments about Panacur C (fenbendazole)My dogs are so much happier now! Unfortunately, I missed cleaning up some of their messes from the backyard and will have to retreat them again soon. Don't make the mistake I made: Clean up ALL their little piles before and until you finish treatment to make sure you do not have to repeat it right away! -

IS IT EASY TO SPLIT ONE PACKAGE OF 2 GRS INTO 2 X 1 GR ??
-
Panacur C is manufactured in 1 gram, 2 gram, and 4 gram packet sizes. Once any of these packets are opened, there is no way to exactly measure out a partial dose. The manufacturer doesn’t provide instructions for using partial packets. Instead, instructions for mixing different packet sizes to achieve the correct dose for a specific dog’s weight are provided on the back of the box. Please consult with your veterinarian to determine if splitting a package of Panacur C 2 gram is an appropriate option for your pet.

The Directions on the 10lbs package says the daily dose is 22,7 mg/lbs. According to this a 10lbs dog would need 220,7 mg a day which equals ~ 2,3 g a day. Why does it say 1g then on the dosing table. I'm confused! My dog weighs 7lbs. I want to know the exact dosage please.?
-
You are correct that the dosing of Panacur C (fenbendazole) is 22.7 mg/lbs. This means that a 10 pound dog would need a dose of 227 mg. 227 milligrams is equal to 0.227 grams. The active ingredient (fenbendazole) has a concentration of 222mg per 1 gram of product, meaning that a 1 gram packet has the recommended dose for a 10 pound dog. According to the manufacturer, a dog that is 10 pounds or less should receive a 1 gram packet once per day for 3 days. The manufacturer also states that if your dog is in between the suggested dosing size, they should be given the higher size (a 15 pound dog should receive a 2 gram packet for example). Contact your veterinarian if you have further questions or concerns.

My 21 pound pug just finished taking 5 doses (5 days) of Panacur C on Saturday. She vomited live worms on Sunday. Does that mean the Panacur C did not work? Does she need another round of treatment? How soon can she take the second round of treatment??
-
According to the manufacturer of Panacur C, you may need to give your dog another round of treatment. Panacur C moves along the gut just as food does and kills any adult whipworms, roundworms, hookworms, and some tapeworms. It is possible that immature worms remained in the gut and were not killed by the Panacur C, which you saw in your dog's vomit. Before starting another round of treatment, it is important to identify the species of worm you are treating to be sure it is a whipworm, roundworm, hookworm, or tapeworm. This is a very safe treatment and another round of doses can begin within 2 weeks. Please discuss a possible second round of treatment with your veterinarian.

If my dog weighs 120lbs how much do I need to treat. Also is there any other product that treats a broad spectrum of worms most importantly hookworms??
-
A 120 lb dog would need three 4g packets per day and should be treated for 3 days. There are various dewormers available that would also cover hookworm. Talk with your veterinarian about the best option for your pet.

What are the side effects??
-
Fenbendazole is an antiparasitic agent. There are typically no side effects as long as this medication is used at a normal dose based on the animal's body weight. Rarely, cats and dogs may experience salivation, vomiting, or diarrhea. It is also possible for a pet to experience an allergic response to the dying parasites, but this has primarily been seen at high doses.

My puppy is about 7 lbs, is it safe to use the 10 lbs??
-
Panacur C contains an antiparasitic drug, fenbendazole, that is effective against a variety of parasites. It has been tolerated without severe adverse effects at doses much larger than the recommended dose, but it is important to consult with your veterinarian to make sure this is the appropriate therapeutic choice for your puppy. It is important to note that the product should be used in dogs six weeks and older; including pregnant dogs. Your veterinarian will diagnose your puppy with the specific parasite that he or she is affected by, and choose an the best treatment based on these results. I just finished the three day dosage. To make sure the worms are gone how early/soon can I complete a follow-up dosage??
-
Panacur C (fenbendazole) is approved for dogs at least 6 weeks of age and is indicated for the treatment of roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, and tapeworms. After you have completed three consecutive days of therapy, your pet's veterinarian may request that you repeat the course in three weeks. This serves the purpose of treating parasites who were immature at the time of the initial treatment. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I have a 7 month old sherperd mix puppy that is 37 lbs. His blood test came back negative for heartworms, but the fecal test came back positive for giardi. The vet prescribed the Panacur for 10 days! Isn't this too long? Is there any harm in taking this for 10 days? He was also given the Interceptor (milbemycin oxime) to prevent heatworms. I am concern of over medicating the puppy.?
-
Panacur C can be used to treat a variety of parasites. When used to treat and control worms, the typical dose is once daily for three days. When used to treat giardia - treatment regimens last from 3-10 days. At typical doses, there are usually no adverse effects. Some dogs may experience salivation, vomiting or diarrhea. Consult your veterinarian - they will be able to explain the risks versus benefit of taking these medications. Thank you, VetRxDirect
