Would this product be recommended for lip fold dermatitis??
-
Mal-A-Ket contains a combination of chlorhexidine and ketoconazole. It is used to treat intertriginous (where skin touches skin) and interdigital dermatitis (in between the toes), hot spots, and other skin conditions including lip fold dermatitis. The Mal-A-Ket Wipes may be preferred for ease of administration. Try not to let your pet lick or chew the treated area after application though this may not be possible based on the location of the dermatitis.Your veterinarian will be able to help determine the best way of treating this type of dermatitis.

How frequently can I safely use the pads? I walk my dog 4 times a day and have been using a pad to wipe between her pads after each walk. Is this frequency safe? It has been effective in that she no longer licks nor chews on her pads. Should I cut back on the number of times per day now that her chewing has subsided? Or should I continue with this frequency??
-
The manufacturer does not list a frequency or a limit to the number of time Mal-a-ket wipes can be used per day. Discuss this with your veterinarian and stop the use of Mal-a-ket wipes if any skin irritation develops or worsens. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I am supposed to apply the wipes between my dog's toes for yeast, as per my vet. She licks her paws I am worried about her ingesting this product. Please advise.?
-
Dolly, When using Mal-A-Ket it is important to minimize ingestion of the residue left behind by the wipes. Mal-A-Ket wipes contain 1% ketoconazole, 2% chlorhexidine, and 2% acetic acid. Per manufacturer you should prevent your pet from licking the area of application because ingestion can be harmful. If you are concerned about the amount of product your pet may ingest, your pet’s veterinarian can help you choose an alternate product for your pet, or will advise you on ways to prevent ingestion following application. Thank you, VetRxDirect
