We are currently using Mal-a-ket wipes on the fold above our bulldog's tail. It is red with an odor & some of the hair in the area is coming out. This is the first time this has happened and I wanted to know if this will help clear it up.?
-
Debbie, Mal-A-Ket wipes contain antibacterial and antifungal agents useful for cleansing areas prone to infections. The severity of an infection will determine if Mal-A-Ket wipes can be used for treatment. Since you are noticing visual and odor changes to this area, please speak with your dog's veterinarian to determine if a more aggressive treatment is needed to clear the infection. Ma-A-Ket wipes may be used as an adjunct with oral therapy and may be recommended for long term use to help prevent future infections. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Hi there, we have a dog with cancer who has external tumors that break open and bleed. We are currently using chlorhexadine to clean but I was wondering if these could be used as well? Thanks! Jane?
-
Jane, Mal-A-Ket wipes also contain chlorhexidine in addition to acetic acid and ketoconazole, both of which are used to further prevent infection from bacteria and fungi. Whereas chlorhexidine alone would be a general antiseptic and antibacterial. I would caution the possibility of your pet licking the area if you were to use the wipes because ingestion could cause some adverse effects, however this would be a question for your pet's veterinarian since he or she will know more specifically about your pet's disease state and what would be an appropriate agent to use. Thank you, VetRxDirect
