His seizures have been reduced while on the medication, but they still happen from time to time. The pills are a little large for a dog his size, but he usually takes them down without much hassle. Just be sure you're double checking between the standard and the extended release variants.-

Hello! My poodle was just diagnosed with epilepsy. I ordered this on a monthly plan. They have to be cut in half, but can I put them in a pill pocket treat and have him chew it? Or do I have to push it down his throat? I pray that he can chew it .. I would hate to have to shove it 3 times a day.?

This medicine may be given with or without food. Extended-release tablets should not be crushed or chewed, however, these Levetiracetam tablets are immediate release. If you give the pill in a piece of treat or pill pocket, it is important to watch your pet to ensure that they ingest the entire pill pocket and do not spit it out to confirm that they have received the dose of medication. If you have difficulty getting your dog to take this medicine, contact your veterinarian for dosing tips to help reduce the stress of medication time.

My 19 pound pug is on 170mg three times daily of leveciratam for the last two months. I have noticed an increased thirst, and she drinks about three times what she used too. Is this a normal side effect? Is it harmful??

What are the colors of the different doses? Could you post a photograph of all three doses showing the colors of the pills? My dog's vet office had filled a script for 250mg pills which are blue in the original prescription (June 2015) but the pills in the refill are a rose/purple color while the new label also says it's 250 mg. Just want to make sure my dog is getting the right dose.?

My dog has been having seizure since January 30 of this year. My vet told me to keep track of them. He didn't any in Feburary . However they started up in March and haven't stop since.in September He didn't have any for 3 weeks! He has been taking up until today and now the taking Keppra with Pheno and his seizure are very mild. We have moved Now we have moved to Northern California And vet says that is very hard to get Keppra!!! Is this true? He want to put Him on a different medication it's starts?
