Great value!
From Brownsville ORComments about Lactated Ringers SolutionWe administer lactated ringers to our elderly cat who has CKD two or three times a week. We paid twice as much for several years, so we are pleased to find the same quality for half the price. The fluids keep our cat hydrated and although he gets fidgety during the process, we can tell he feels better afterward. -

I heard there was a contamination issue at a manufacturer for lactated ringers - are the supplies you have in stock not part of this issue? I just ordered some and want to make sure they will be ok. Almost every other company is on back order for thisitem?
-
Our pharmacy staff pulls inventory anytime a drug recall is issued for any reason. There is a national shortage of this product, but our limited supply is not included in a recall at this time.

My vet won't write a prescription because they want to sell the one liter subcutaneous fluids for cats for $80 where can I get a vet to write a prescription for me thank you?
-
Melody, If your vet won't write you a prescription, the only other thing you can do is see if another vet in your area would be willing to write you one. We are not able to fill a prescription medication without a prescription from a vet. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you, VetRxDirect

After a bag has been open, how long is it good for before going bad? When should it be discarded??
-
Lactated ringer bags are intended to be used as a single dose and the unused portion to be discarded. It contains no antimicrobial agents thus has the potential for contamination. It’s always important to have the bag in a clean environment and frequently replacing the IV line and needle minimizing contamination. Lactated ringer bags are often times prescribed for pets that require only a small volume for a single dose and would be costly to replace a bag after every dose. Please contact your veterinarian for specific advice on how often you should replace the lactated ringer bag for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

It appears from the package insert, this product is not DEHP FREE. Is that correct? If correct, will you offer DEHP FREE fluids at any time??
-
In reference to either the Lactated Ringer’s Injection by Hospira or by Abbott, that is correct. The PVC Lactated Ringer’s Injection bags we carry by these manufacturers use DEHP as the plasticizer. Both manufactures, however, state that while DEHP may leach out into the solution within the expiration period, the safety of the plastic containers have been confirmed by tests in accordance with USP biological standards for plastic containers. When considering IV preparations and containers for fluid therapy in your pet it is also important to first speak with your pet’s veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect
