I would definitely buy from Vet Rx Diirect again,
From Buffalo New YorkComments about Humulin N InsulinComes in a small enough amount that I dont waste it. Insulin is only good for 31 days after opened and if there is still some in the bottle, you still have to throw it out, which is a waste of money. But with the 3ml bottle I will have none to minimal waste. With the 10 ml bottle I was throwing over 1/2 of it away, Local pharmacies dont carry the 3ml size to Vet Rx was my obvious choice. I am very happy with them, they even contacted my vet for the prescription and kept me update with emails. -

From Lebanon, TNComments about Humulin N InsulinI had been having to throw away nearly half a vial of insulin because I could not purchase these locally. Insulin is way too expensive for that, so I am very happy to have found VetRXDirect. -

From IllinoisComments about Humulin N InsulinPrice is very competitive, staff is very helpful, delivery was next day as promised. -
Not for our dog.
From VA, USAComments about Humulin N InsulinWe bought this based on another review stating that it was easy and quick for dogs who are not cooperating with injections. It did not work for us. The word "kwik" should not be used in the title of this product. Infact, it is a longer process than using a regular syringe. Directions state that it must be inserted subcutaneously for 5 seconds. Our dog will not hold still for the 5 seconds, rendering this product useless to us. I think it is a great idea for traveling with a diabetic pet, as it is all in one except for inserting the needle tip. This process should be explained in the directions on the website. If they were we missed them. We are out the cost of the pen and box of syringe tips. -
So much easier and faster
From Atlanta, Georgia, USAComments about Humulin N InsulinBetween my anxiety level and my Min Pin's by the time I finished using the vials and syringes, it was a very stressful time to administer my dog's insulin. These pen needles and pens are the cat's meow. So much better! I highly recommend. -

My australian shepherd was just diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. The vet recommends 7unit twice a day. how many doses will this product provide following the vets recommendation??
-
According to the package, Humulin N KwikPen and 3 mL vial contain 300 units of Humulin N. This will allow for 42 doses (or 21 days) to be administered if the veterinarian recommends 7 units twice a day. The 10 mL vial will provide 142 doses (or 71 days) of 7 units per dose. Please keep in mind that the vial should be discarded 31 days after opening, and the pen should only be used for 14 days after opening. Please contact your veterinarian to determine if this product is appropriate for your dog.

My cat is on Lantus. Can I switch him to Humulin? Is it stronger then Lantus i.e. only give once a day instead of 2??
-
Lantus is a long-acting insulin commonly given every 12 hours in cats. Humulin-N is an intermediate-acting insulin and Humulin-R is a short-acting insulin. Dosing will be specific to your pet. Cats need to be monitored closely as their response to insulin can be unpredictable and can require adjustments in dose or type of insulin during treatment. Please consult your veterinarian for which insulin is best for your cat. Thank you, VetRxDirect

is this a auto inject?
-
Humulin N insulin is packaged in three ways: 3mL insulin pen, 3mL insulin vial, and 10mL insulin vial. It's important to note that all three products should be discarded after 31 days after the first use. The insulin pen is a convenient way to dose and administer the insulin but will require pen needles instead of insulin syringes. Feel free to call and ask for one of the pharmacists if you have any further questions.

Is this a 24 hour insulin? I'm currently using Solostar, but my insurance won't cover it next year.?
-
Humulin N (generic NPH) is a human-labeled insulin defined as an intermediate-acting insulin whereas Lantus (generic glargine) Solostar is a long-acting human insulin. Both Humulin N and Lantus are often used twice daily in dogs. NPH insulin wouldn't be a good candidate for once daily dosing though. Please consult with your veterinarian to determine if an alternative insulin therapy to Solostar is appropriate for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect
