Great customer service
I had my vet do the heartworm test, and asked her to write me a prescription for a 12 month supply. Heartworm test was negative, (thank God). I had told her that he liked the Heartgard, chewable kind. My vet is very busy and wrote the prescription for pills, not chewable. I realized it when I got home, I let vetrxdirect.com know about the mistake. They took over, got in touch with my vet., and had the prescription switched to what I wanted, and filled the order within the week. THAT IS COSTERMER SERVICE YOU DO NOT SEE MUCH OF ANYMORE!!!

It does have beef in it. I called the company. My dog happens to be allergic to beef. Wish it said that in the ingredients. It doesn't.

Excellent Service
From Richmond, VirginiaComments about Heartgard TabletsThis is the only place I could find the tablets. I have three senior terriers that can't chew well as their teeth are few. I can get them to swallow this tab so much easier than trying to get them to chew the chewable. -
VERY HAPPY THE TABLETS ARE AVAILABLE AGAIN!
From DallasComments about Heartgard TabletsThe chewable upsets my elderly dog's stomach. I prefer using pill pockets to give medications -
Perfect for dogs with food allergies!!
From MassachusettsComments about Heartgard TabletsMy dog has been on these tablets for about seven months now. He is very allergic to certain foods. This has worked out great. My Vet actually recommended these tablets and VetRxDirect is the only place I could find them. I sneak the tablets into a little bit of prescribed food and my dog doesn't even seem to notice. Thank You so much VetRxDirect!!!! -
Awesomeness!!!
From Middlebury VTComments about Heartgard TabletsGlad to have found a place that sells heart guard that isn't beef, chicken etc flavored. My pup is allergic to such foods so we steer clear of even the flavors. Will definitely order from this site again. Not to mention the price is lower then at the vets! -
a lifesaver for dogs with allergies!
From New EnglandComments about Heartgard TabletsMy boxer has several food sensitivities and cannot take any of the "chewable" heartworm pills. These are perfect- I know he's protected and they don't make him sick. -
Only Place I have found the Tablets
From MarylandComments about Heartgard TabletsMy vet told me the chewable heartgard can cause digestive upset issues and to get the tablets. This is the only place I have found them available on-line, or actually, anywhere. Fast service. Quick delivery. -
Love it
From Atlantic BeachComments about Heartgard TabletsIt's great -
So easy to use!
From Cape Carteret, NCComments about Heartgard TabletsThe pills are so much easier to use than the chewables! Chewables must be chewed and, if your dogs are like mine, it's not chewed but swallowed whole IF they'll eat it at all. One of my pugs hates the taste of the chewables and refuses to take them. I put the pill in a bit of wet food and we're done. -
Excellent customer service!!

Does the Heartgard tablet also treat for parasites like whipworms??
-
What is the physical size (dimensions) of the unflavored Heartguard tablet for the 1 to 25-pound dogs??
-
they have been backordered for more than a year so you won't be able to order them anyhow. They were small enough I could put in a pill pocket and my CKCS could eat them.

My 14 year old pug has been on Hearthard chewable his entire life. Recently he was diagnosed with IBD. He was transitioned to Heartgaurd Tablets. He currently weighs 18 lbs. The tablets for dogs under 20 lbs was not available. I was given the tablets for dogs 20 to 50 lbs, ans told to split them and give half the dose. The tablets are not scored and do not split evenly or stay intact. I am asking if this is a prudent way to address the unavailability of the weight appropriate tablets.?
-
It is not recommended to split tablets that are not scored. Please contact your veterinarian for the best option for your dog.
Verified Answer -
you should not split them. The medicine may not be distributed evenly throughout the pill.

Is the tablet small enough for a maltese to swallow. She will not chew anything but dry dog food and will pick out anything else in her bowl?
-
Speak with your veterinarian about the best options for heartworm and intestinal parasite control. There are chewable and topical options available for prevention of heartworms and intestinal parasites if an oral tablet dosage form is not appropriate for your pet.

My German shepherd is on a strict hypo allergenic diet. Are these really unflavored? She cannot have any type of flavor in her treats or pet products. Thanks in advance.?
-
After contacting Merial, the company that manufactures Heartgard, it was confirmed that their are NO flavors or food products used to manufacture the unflavored Heartgard tablets. The fact that this medication has no added flavors and food products makes it ideal for dogs with allergies to certain meats or additives.
