What are EpiTreats for Dogs?
- EpiTreats are specially formulated healthy dog treats that may be given to healthy dogs of any age.
- EpiTreats contain a hydrolyzed protein source of chicken liver with a low Dalton size of less than 3500 to reduce the likelihood of allergic reactions.
- EpiTreats also contain a single carbohydrate source of dried potato product to reduce the chance of causing allergies.
What else should I know about EpiTreats?
- Store at controlled room temperature.
- Close package tightly after opening to retain freshness.
What problems could my dog have with EpiTreats?
- EpiTreats are intended for supplemental feeding only, and should never be used as a complete diet.
- In order to maintain a healthy weight, use the feeding guidelines and use caution not to exceed the maximum number of treats oer day.
How do you use EpiTreats?
- Give as directed by your veterinarian.
- Manufacturer's suggested number of treats per day for normal weight dogs: Dogs up to 20 lbs, 5 treats. Dogs 40 lbs, 7 treats. Dogs 60 lbs, 8 treats. Dogs 80 lbs, 10 treats. Dogs 100 lbs, 13 treats.
- Manufacturer's suggested maximum number of treats per day for obesity prone dogs: Dogs up to 20 lbs, 3 treats. Dogs 40 lbs, 4 treats. Dogs 60 lbs, 5 treats. Dogs 80 lbs, 6 treats. Dogs 100 lbs, 8 treats.
What is in EpiTreats?
- Approximate calories per treat: 16 kcal/ treat.
- Guaranteed analysis: Crude protein min 11%, Crude fat min 5%, Crude fiber max 4%, Moisture 28%.
- Ingredients: Dried potato product, hydrolyzed chicken liver, water sufficient for processing, corn syrup, glycerin, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), calcium carbonate, lecithin, potassium chloride, phosphoric acid, salt, sorbic acid (as a preservative), rosemary extract.

Why so good?
I am a contractor and know the treats that chain store drive up windows give out. They are garbage treats compared to the Epi treats. I have one bag of treats in my truck and when I go to clients houses, I will give out a treat with the homeowner's approval. Dogs love them and are immediately your best friend.
I do not know why dogs love these treats so much, but they do. The only treats I buy for my dog.

I won't buy them again.
I don't believe there is enough medicine in the treats. My dog had diarrhea after feeding them to him. I stopped feeding him them for a couple days and his stool was normal. I tried to feed them to him again to see if he would be okay. He had diarrhea again. I've stopped giving him them.

From Northbrook, IL.Comments about EpiTreats Dog SnacksI was turned on to these treats by my dog's vet. My dog will not eat anything at the vet, because he isn't fond of being there. The vet pulled out a zip lock bag of Epi-Treats. To my surprise, my dog smelled it and tried it. I was shocked that he ate the treat, but after he did, he went nuts. He was jumping on me trying to get another one. I have never seen my dog ever do that. It is like "Crack" for dogs. I now purchase two or three bags at a time so that I can keep one bag in my work truck. I am a contractor and visit many houses with dogs. Every Time I go to a house I give the owner a treat and tell them to break it in half. Give the dog the first piece, once he realizes what he just ate, he will be looking for more. The second piece will reaffirm to the dog that the owner has the treats. FYI - DO NOT give the treats to someone else's dog! You do not want the clients dog to love you more than their owners. -

Our dog has kidney stone; she is on royal canin SO diet. Are these treats okay for her stones? ?

Animals with kidney stones are switched to prescription foods, such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O, to help prevent stone formation and to encourage your dog to drink more water. The food has been formulated to have the right protein, fat, and fiber that will discourage stone formation. With this being said, the addition of any other foods or treats can alter the amount of protein, fat, or fiber that your dog is getting, and may disturb the balance that the food provides, so we would recommend asking your dog’s veterinarian which treats they would recommend, that won’t worsen your pets kidney stones.
