Our dog has kidney stone; she is on royal canin SO diet. Are these treats okay for her stones? ?
-
Steve, This is a great question! Animals with kidney stones are switched to prescription foods, such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O, to help prevent stone formation and to encourage your dog to drink more water. The food has been formulated to have the right protein, fat, and fiber that will discourage stone formation. With this being said, the addition of any other foods or treats can alter the amount of protein, fat, or fiber that your dog is getting, and may disturb the balance that the food provides, so we would recommend asking your dog’s veterinarian which treats they would recommend, that won’t worsen your pets kidney stones. Thank you, VetRxDirect
