My 6 pound chihuahua is on Vetmedin & enalapril for heart disease. The vet has prescribed 1/4 tab of COUGH TABS every 8 hours or as needed. Is 1/4 tab enough to help ? All others seem to prescribe 1/2 tab every 4-8 hours for a small sized dog.?

The directions said to give one pill every 6-8 hours. I gave him another dose about an hour to an hour and a half earlier than his second does by mistake. Will this cause any bad side effects??
