HUGE SAVINGS!!!!!!
I was told that my new puppy had a collapsing trachea and will need cough medication for the rest of her life. I was devastated and doubly devastated when I found out how much they cost at my vet. I paid over $1.00/tablet. She was prescribed 1/4 tablet twice daily. The bigger she gets the more she will need of course. This puppy was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old and she LOVES her new baby but being a single mom I did my research and thought I found a healthy puppy. Surgery could also be a possibility one day ($6000). I thought we would probably have to find a new home that could better take care of my sick puppy until I found the medication (which seems to be working great by the way with no surgery in sight yet) on VetRX Direct website. It has been a lifesaver! My vet charges 10 times the amount that VetRx does for the exact same pills! THANK YOU VetRX Direct for making this situation a little easier and possibly making it possible to keep our new baby. You have been a blessing! I will always check prices on here before I ever buy from anywhere else again!

Good product, good price, the pills are a bit hard to brake in half and crumble in a pill cutter. But help my old dog with chronic cough so well worth the trouble. Product came fast ordering was easy.

Same Medication Prescribed by Vet!
From UndisclosedComments about Cough Tablets 250ctMy dog Storm is 12 years old and has developed a persistent cough that my Vet can't explain or make go away. After many office visits and cough pill prescriptions, I started looking for something comparable online. I found VetRxDirect cough tablets and decided to give them a try...lo and behold, these are the EXACT SAME cough pills that my Vet was prescribing (but I got a lot more pills for less money). Storm will probably have this cough for the rest of his life, but these pills really reduce the amount and severity of his coughing. What a blessing! Thank you VetRxDirect for improving the quality of Storm's life. 🧡-

Helps with chronic cough.
From UndisclosedComments about Cough TabletsDanny is an older Pomeranian we adopted from our local shelter. He was a stray they took in an no one claimed. He has a chronic cough not attributed to heart disease. I tried these on a whim to see if they help and they really do. He still has the cough but not as much. I give him 1/2 a tab as needed and he seems much more comfortable.-

Q & A
-
Can my dog take this for his cough if he is taking insulin??
-
We are unable to appropriately determine if there is a drug interaction between the cough tablets and the insulin because the type of insulin was not provided. You should talk to your veterinarian about further questions or concerns regarding the use of the cough tablets in your dog due to the lack of information available about your pet.

I am looking for the storage information for Cough Tabs. Specifically if they can by frozen. My Vet has prescribed these in quarter tab doses for my 5lb. Chihuahua but the bitterness makes my dog salivate uncontrollably, if I freeze them in a bit of cheese I have better luck but would that alter the medication? Thank you.?
-
According to the manufacturer, Creative Science LLC, there have been no studies on freezing Cough Tabs, so the stability of the compound cannot be guaranteed. It is recommended that you talk to your dog's veterinarian for other recommendations about treating your dog's cough.

have 10 yr Pomeranian, had teeth cleaned yesterday coughed all night ,vet gave her these this morning,no difference yet,is also on phenobarbital for seizures, are these compatible and when will they work ??
-
The active ingredients in this medication typically work after the first dose, and doses are most commonly given every 4 hours as needed. Phenobarbitol does not interact with any ingredients in this medication, and is fine to take along with the cough tablets. If your pet is not responding to the cough tablets we recommend contacting your veterinarian for potential alternatives.

I see this an older review, but what you're describing sounds like routine trachea irritation due to the anesthesia process (being intubated) necessary for a dental. It is somewhat common following a dental prophylaxis and usually only lasts 1-3 days. Any other issues or if it lasts longer, definitely consult your Vet.

Do you have to wean dogs off this medication or can you just stop giving it?
-
This medication contains guaifenesin and dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which work together to help relieve your dog's cough symptoms. Guaifenesin helps your dog cough up mucus and clear the airways and dextromethorphan helps reduce coughing. This medication usually does not have to be weaned, but it would be important to speak with your pet's veterinarian about stopping this medication to make sure it is the correct decision for your pet's health.

Dear Ma'am/Sir, My pet was prescribed medication similar to the above, however, I didn't care for the 'side-effects"... His coughing seems to be getting worse & I'd like to try it again...(I still have some available)... Do you have any idea if it's "too late" ??? I would be devastated if his passing were due to me not following the "Dr.'s/Vet's Orders"... Thank-You Very Much !!! "Very Concerned"...?

Can I give this cough pill to a heartworm positive dog who is also talking minocycline??
-
According to Plumb's Veterinary Handbook, there are no drug-drug interactions between minocycline and dextromethorphan and guaifenesin, which are the 2 active ingredients in the cough tablets. Saunders' Handbook of Veterinary Drugs lists no contraindications for guaifenesin and dextromethorphan. This cough pill should be safe to give your heartworm positive dog.
