• My vet told me today, she ran out of chlorhexidine wash for my young cats foot. He has a deep red bump on his foot and it bleeds sometimes. My other cat scathed him on his foot and it heal last year. Just recently it stated to bleed slightly and I need to know if you have this antiseptic wash.?

  • We are not sure which Nolvasan product you were using. The Nolvasan Antiseptic Ointment has a lower concentration of chlorhexidine than this product. The Nolvasan Skin and Wound Cleanser has the same concentration of chlorhexidine. According to the manufacturer, this VetOne Chlorhexidine 2% Ointment may be used to soothe around surface wounds and sores. They say it is a non-irritating formula containing special emollients that can be used daily on all dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, horses and foals. Please make sure you check with your veterinarian if you decide to switch brands or products.

  • This product is not indicated for use on humans. Also, chlorhexidine would not an effective treatment for athlete's foot. You should visit your local pharmacy, talk to your pharmacist, and look for a product containing clotrimazole, terbinafine or butenafine. Thank you, VetRxDirect
