Excellent Product!!
From Lehigh Acres, FloridaComments about Chlorhexidine 2% OintmentMy dog has battled skin irritations most of her life due to an excess of skin bacteria. This product has helped tremendously in keeping her skin calmed and healthy. It also helps when she has scratched an area too much. Just make sure you rub it in completely, as it is blue in color and getting it on the carpet is not fun. -

When is the expiration date of it?

Can this product be used on cat chin acne? Thanks?
-
Chlorhexidine is a topical antiseptic ointment that helps clean affected areas when applied. Cat chin acne occurs when hair follicles become blocked due to an overproduction of keratin. The use of chlorhexidine for cat chin acne is well documented. Depending on what treatments have been tried as well as the severity of the acne, treatment regimens may differ. It is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian to determine if chlorhexidine is the most appropriate treatment for your cat.

Can this product be used on hot spots on dogs?
-
A proper evaluation by your veterinarian would be recommended to ensure that the correct treatment is not delayed. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that cleans and prevents microorganism growth and is designed for use on sores, wounds, and other conditions. It is non-irritating and can be applied to pyotraumatic dermatitis/hot spots to clean the affected area and prevent infections. However Chlorhexidine ointment has certain precautions; please talk to your veterinarian regarding recommendations for individual cases or any further questions regarding this medication

Is this product similar to the Nolvasan cream I have used on my horses in the past? Have already had the vet, and I'm looking for a cream like Nolvasan to put on wound before I apply the dressing and vet wrap. Thanks for your help.?
-
We are not sure which Nolvasan product you were using. The Nolvasan Antiseptic Ointment has a lower concentration of chlorhexidine than this product. The Nolvasan Skin and Wound Cleanser has the same concentration of chlorhexidine. According to the manufacturer, this VetOne Chlorhexidine 2% Ointment may be used to soothe around surface wounds and sores. They say it is a non-irritating formula containing special emollients that can be used daily on all dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, horses and foals. Please make sure you check with your veterinarian if you decide to switch brands or products.
