Can this product be used on cat chin acne? Thanks?
-
Chlorhexidine is a topical antiseptic ointment that helps clean affected areas when applied. Cat chin acne occurs when hair follicles become blocked due to an overproduction of keratin. The use of chlorhexidine for cat chin acne is well documented. Depending on what treatments have been tried as well as the severity of the acne, treatment regimens may differ. It is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian to determine if chlorhexidine is the most appropriate treatment for your cat.

Is this product similar to the Nolvasan cream I have used on my horses in the past? Have already had the vet, and I'm looking for a cream like Nolvasan to put on wound before I apply the dressing and vet wrap. Thanks for your help.?
-
We are not sure which Nolvasan product you were using. The Nolvasan Antiseptic Ointment has a lower concentration of chlorhexidine than this product. The Nolvasan Skin and Wound Cleanser has the same concentration of chlorhexidine. According to the manufacturer, this VetOne Chlorhexidine 2% Ointment may be used to soothe around surface wounds and sores. They say it is a non-irritating formula containing special emollients that can be used daily on all dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, horses and foals. Please make sure you check with your veterinarian if you decide to switch brands or products.
