Excellent Product
From Ventura, CA, USAComments about ZylkeneI have a little Bischon who's personality is carefree, happy-go-lucky, friendly, loving, playful etc... you get the idea. That all suddenly changed one day, she did not want to play, not motivated by food, shaking, hiding, and would not go out side. I believe something tried to attack her in the backyard. She uses a doggie door to go in and out of on her own. Oh, did I mention she begin soiling all over the house, something she never did. Took her to the Vet, did blood work, urine etc.... no physical symptoms. She was experiencing severe anxiety- fear! I started her on the Zylkene and together with a consistent re-training routine, she is improving. She still will not go out side on her own, but to see her happy again, warms my heart. She begin improving within the same week of starting the Zylkene. She has not side affects! Great Product!!!!! And did I mention its a non-invasive way to treat anxiety!!!!! Love It.-

Great product
From Dublin, OHComments about ZylkeneI bought this product to help alleviate PTSD in my 6 yr old golden retriever at the suggestion of my vet. He is on 2-450mg caps a day and has been for 2 months and is doing remarkably well. He is so much calmer and happier. I can see that he is not at all stressed out like he used to be. Before he took these, he would jump up from a down position every time I would move (i.e. changing positions on the couch, getting up from a chair, etc.) Now he stays put and I am so happy to see him so much more relaxed. Definitely would recommend giving this a try but it is expensive. -
Nothing Happened
From UndisclosedComments about ZylkeneThis doesn't work at all for my dog. Even seemed to make things worse. Disappointing. -
Best Alternative to Prescription Meds!
From Deep South, USAComments about ZylkeneAn all-natural, healthy solution to gently and subtly curb stress and anxiety in your pet brought on by sudden changes to their daily routine, such as home renovations! This product takes approximately one week to take effect which in my opinion is safer than a "quick fix" tranquilizer.

Will Zyklene help my 4.5 month old puppy better accept toe nail grooming? He tolerates me playing with his paws but totally freaks when I try to grind/file his nails. I can hold the grinder (with the safety cap on) up to his nose or paws with no fear from him. As soon as I try to actually groom his nails, he yowls and squirms so much that he could actually hurt himself.?

Zylkene is a supplement that could soothe animals and reduce stress per the manufacturer. Some pets may require a prescription medication to ease situational anxiety. Please consult with your veterinarian with questions about nail grooming techniques or options for stress that may be appropriate and helpful for your dog.

I have a 50 lb, two year old, high anxiety, border collie mix. She is fear aggressive toward other dogs and people. I started her on the 450 mg several months ago and had wonderful results, but i didn't order a refill on time, so she missed a couple of days of dosage. After I received her new refill, I started the same dosage again and it didn't have any therapeutic effect on her at all. I am so sad for her and us. My question is: is it ok to give her the 450 and a smaller dose along with it? The vet who recommended it to us said to double the dose but I am afraid it would be too much for her. Please help.?
-
This product is used to help reduce stress and anxiety for short and long term treatment in dogs. It would be important to speak with your pet's veterinarian about your concerns regarding dosing of this medication to see if a different dose might be beneficial for your pet's fear and aggression towards dogs and people.

75mg 225mg or 450mg for a dog weighting 75lbs.?
-
Zylkene is a supplement that can help with anxiety and stress in dogs and cats. The manufacturer recommends that a dog between 66 and 132 pounds take two of the 450 mg capsules daily. The manufacturer-recommended length of treatment with Zylkene varies depending on the type of stressor that your dog is going to experience. For a short-term stressor such as fireworks or traveling, the manufacturer recommends that you begin supplementing your dog's food about 1-2 days prior to the event, and continue until the stressful event is done. For long-term stressors like a new baby, the manufacturer recommends giving Zylkene for a longer period of time. We recommend that you discuss your dog's stress with your veterinarian before you place your order in order to ensure that Zylkene is the best option for your pet.
