Zentonil Plus
Zentonil is a supplement designed to help support liver health and function in dogs and cats. Zentonil also works to support neurotransmitters in the brain for cognitive and memory functions. Ideal for senior pets or those with extra liver support needs. It comes in a flavored tablet formulated with high palatability, making it easier to administer whole or crushed in food. Zentonil plus is available in 100mg, 200mg, and 400mg tablets for dogs based on weight.

Our 13 yr old poodle has liver disease. We have been treating her with zentonil since since 7/2012. Her ALT is 813 u/l and the ALKP is 1741 u/l. Could we switch her to S-adenosyl without repercussions? All other blood tests are in the normal range. ?

Sue, Zentonil Plus is a nutritional supplement, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM-e), used for liver support. Zentonil Plus is available in 100mg, 200mg, and 400mg of SAM-e. The manufacturer’s suggested dosing is based on the weight of your pet. Switching to an alternative with the same active ingredient, SAM-e, and same dose strength should have similar benefits.
