We have the 2oz bottle that instructs to give 5ml for each 10 pounds. What dosage should we administer to 5 week old puppies??
-
According to the manufacturer's instructions, the dosage for this product is based on the weight of the dog, not the age. One full teaspoon (5ml) is recommended for 10 lbs of body weight, so ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) is needed for 5lbs, a ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) is needed for 2.5lbs, and ⅛ teaspoon (0.6ml) for 1.25lbs. Should this be administered daily, weekly, monthly? We can't find where it says on the label or package insert.?
-
Worm Protector contains an antiparasitic called pyrantel pamoate. It is used to treat roundworm and hookworm infections in dogs and puppies. A one time treatment (one dose) may be sufficient in many cases according to the package insert. A second dose may be needed if re-infection is likely. Deworming schedules will vary based on many factors including the age of the animal, if the animal is an outdoor pet, geographic location, and individual animal's resistance to parasites. Contact your veterinarian for guidance on specific dosing and administration. Thank you, VetRxDirect
