Adjust spray nozzle to desired setting (stream setting is best for irrigating wounds) and saturate affected area, flushing away foreign debris. Repeat as needed or as directed by your veterinarian. Open wound treatment
I bought this 2 months ago to sanitize my dogs open wound post Hemangioma surgery. The surgeon removed a tumor/cyst like growth which appeared suddenly in three days on the inside of her right front paw. The surgeon attempted to stitch the wound closed but the stitches failed twice. The decision was made to allow the dogs body and recovery system to heal the wound from the inside out and to fill the hole left from surgery.
Surgery was performed on April 22nd 2015. I am writing this review on June 3rd, 2015.
The wound has almost completely healed. I continue to change the wound dressing daily. Originally had changed the dressing 3x per day, now only once daily.
I used the Vetericyn to sanitize the open wound each time I changed the dressing. It was easy to spray Vetericyn on the open wound. The liquid did NOT irritate the surrounding tissue nor did it startle or hurt my dog.
I have recently had a small pencil diameter sized squamous cell carcinoma removed from my lower leg. I am using Vetericyn in the same manner I treated my dogs open wound. I spray Vetericyn directly on the wound and cover with a non stick pad held in place with two bandaids. I feel no discomfort using the spray and am convinced my wound is sanitized and kept free of infection just like as used on my dog.

Good Stuff
We just recently bought this stuff, so we haven't been using it very long, but it does seem to have kept infections down on her. Our dog has a very serious yeast problem going on and she kept getting secondary infections from digging herself so bad. Unfortunately, she is still having a problem, but between nutritional supplements and the Vetericyn, she's not as bad as she was and we haven't had to put her back on antibiotics or steroids again. So, hopefully, soon we'll finally have things under control.

It definitely promotes wound healing and works well on various skin conditions. This is the only product I use for topical treatment for any rashes, cuts, abrasions, and deep lacerations. Works on hot spots and bug bites. One dog gets these black yeasty areas around his privates this clears them up faster than anything. I use it on personal cuts, scrapes and burns. Some may scoff but we swear by it and after seeing the results my vet recommends it to patients as well. -

It heals the worst wounds quickly and without proud flesh and reduces scaring. I prefer the gel as it sticks better to injuries. Somehow they shipped wrongone but both works great. -

Will this product help my dog with his dry skin?he is part poodle part biashon,and I feel horrible that he scratches sometimes to the point he breaks his skin.I had someone give me a bottle of. Vetericyn VF,and sai to spray him once a week.will this help??

Does the product have an expiration date. If I purchased a large bottle but did not use it all for 3 years, would it be expired by that time??

But! it's recommended to keep your animal from (licking) it until it dries so the product can have its full effect (vs the dog licking it off).

According to the manufacturer’s website, the Vetericyn line of products are non-toxic, steroid-free, antibiotic-free, and do not contain alcohol or tea tree oils. Both the manufacturer's website as well as the bottle of Vetericyn state that Vetericyn spray is safe if licked or ingested. Vetericyn VF (Veterinary Formula) and Vetericyn Wound & Infection Treatment are two different liquid/spray products marketed by the company Innovacyn. The difference between the two products is the concentration of hypochlorous acid they contain. Vetericyn VF has a higher concentration of the active ingredient hypochlorous acid. My dog had a 1 cm slice cut on the side of his paw. It's not infected, looks ok, but it is not easy healing. Is Vetericyn VF would be okey to use? Our Veterinar used EnteDerm ointment to apply, but according yoy site it is for different purposes.?
