Q & A

My vet prescribed Vetasan for our dog to treat a hot spot that was pretty bad. All healed from that ordeal and she has been fine. But she now has a small scratch/cut/blood spot on top of her head, and I have some ointment left from January. It is Saturday afternoon, and I cannot get into my vet until Monday. Is it okay to go ahead and clean the area and then use the ointment to keep this from getting worse??

Per the manufacturer if only a small quantity was ingested there should be no issue with toxicity. However, you should monitor the cat for vomiting, diarrhea, irritation of the gums, and/or loss of appetite. If you notice any of these signs, you should stop using the medication and contact your veterinarian immediately. Thank you, VetRxDirect
