What are UltiCare VetRx U-100 Insulin Syringes for Dogs and Cats?
- Insulin is a hormone that is naturally produced by the pancreas to convert sugar (glucose) in the blood to energy for the body.
- Diabetic animals are either unable to produce their own insulin or cannot use it properly.
- Insulin injections help treat diabetes in cats and dogs by normalizing the glucose level in the blood.
- Insulin syringes are necessary for administering this important drug.
- U-100 insulin is divided into 100 dosing units per milliliter.
- U-100 insulin syringes are designed to inject U-100 insulin types, such as Basaglar, Humalog, Humulin, Lantus, Levemir, NovoLog, and Novolin.
- These precision-engineered syringes make administering daily insulin shots accurate, easy, and effective.
- The sterile, latex-free syringes feature a silicone coated barrel and tri-beveled tip for comfort.
Why do cats and dogs use UltiCare U-100 Insulin Syringes?
- Insulin is prescribed to dogs and cats with diabetes mellitus to help lower their blood sugar.
- Insulin is an ongoing, supportive treatment for diabetes.

is this the same as the bd syringe . my dogs are at 9 units twice a day.?
-
BD Insulin Syringes are a different brand of insulin syringes. Insulin syringes come in various sizes, lengths, and gauges. U-100 syringes are to be used with insulin that contain 100 units per ml. U-40 syringes are to be used with insulin that is 40 units per ml. The type of syringe (U-100 or U-40) will be determined by the insulin prescribed for your pet.

The only syringes that have the 1/2 unit marking on them is the U-100 3/10cc, 31 gauge, 5/16" that says 1/2 unit marking on the box. The rest of the syringes do not have those markings, unfortunately. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Is this same as Monoject 1/2 mL insin syringe? 28G x 1/2" (0.356mmx1.3)?
-
We do not have any Monoject syringes or needles that match these measurements. The smallest Monoject syringe we carry is the 1mL syringe. Otherwise we do carry a U-100 insulin syringe 1/2cc, 28g, 1/2". Please call our customer service line if you have any further questions. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I need U-40. The ones I need are 3/10cc. 29 gague x 1/2" latex free. Can I get them without the sharps container??

Return one package of most recent shipment (Or keep it) and add to a pending order the longer needles ordered in June? Can we do that??
-
Bill, While we can't return needles and an order from June would no longer be pending, please contact us by phone or e-mail to discuss options on ordering different needles. We would need to obtain a new prescription for a different sized needle, so it may be best to consult your pet's veterinarian about the best sized needle before contacting our pharmacy. Thank you, VetRxDirect
