Excellent, works for my dog!
My Irish Terrier had some ongoing issues and my Vet suggested this "old school" solution.
My dog took antibiotics for issue which resolved it but long term use of an antibiotic is not wise in a Senior Dog ( he's 11). Hence my vets suggestion of this powder.
It works great!!' I stuff the 1/4 tspn into a large pill pocket and he takes it fine. My Vet warned me most dogs will not take it since the minute they taste the bitterness they spit it out! Not mine. He gobbles the pill pocket down. Gastric issues resolved and maintained.
I am very happy with this outcome and this powder.
Most Liked Negative Review
I would not buy again, wish I hadn't this time.
My dog has had digestive problems with bacteria disproportion for several years and my vet recommended Tylosin Tartrate when his problem arises. I decided to look for it online for a better price than the vet's office. I got this brand and it's very different, a fine powder instead of granules and it has an odor I never noticed before. My dog sniffs and hesitates to eat when he is on this, where he never did before. Even turns his nose up. I don't recommend this brand. Wish I hadn't chosen it especially for the price.

From UndisclosedComments about Tylosin Tylan, 100g TubOur dog has an enzyme deficiency and Tylosin is part of his dietary program. He constantly had diarrhea and was losing weight. Since the diagnosis and medications, he has not had a problem in over 7 years! We've used VetRXDirect one of the medication was hard to find and their prices are good. Q & A

Hello, I have been giving my dog Tylosin Tartrate by Elanco for years to treat IBD. It has worked well and is a great alternative to steroids. The price of the Elanco product has become too high though. How does the Vet One product compare to Elanco? Do you know if it is within 85-90% bioequivalent (the standard for human generic medications)? Thank you!?
-
The Vet One Tylosin Powder and Tylan Powder by Elanco both contain the same active ingredient, Tylosin tartrate, and different manufacturers make them. Because there are no inactive ingredients and both products have the same active ingredient at the same concentration, the FDA considers these products bioequivalent.

My kitten has been on tylan for 10 days, he still has loose/runny stool. Is this normal? Should he have firm stools by now? or is it possible it will firm up once he's on probiotics.?
-
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic prescribed to cats to help relieve diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease or certain bacterial infections. Because every animal responds to medications differently, it is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian if your cat’s condition has not improved.

My vet recommended it for my dogs tear staining. He said it was in angel eyes products, but it's no longer in there anymore. How do I order this since it's prescription now??
-
Tylosin is no longer available as a component of any over-the-counter tear stain products. Speak with your veterinarian to determine the appropriate treatment for your pet. My vet eye specialist said 1/4 of a teaspoon mixed with food once a day or to get 50 mg compounded would be the same once a day.

Is this the same tylosin that you give dogs to help with bad tear stains? Do I need a prescription? Do I have to give it to my dog forever for his tears??
-
Is there a difference between Tylosin Soluble Powder and Tylosin Tartrate??
-
Tylosin Tartrate is the active ingredient in both products (Tylosin Soluble Powder and Tylosin Tartrate) produced by different manufacturers VetOne and Elanco.

Could you tell me how many mg are in 1/16 teaspoon??
-
There are 162.5mg of Tylosin per 1/16 teaspoon of Tylosin.
Verified Answer -
My vet told me that 1/4 tsp equals 50 mg, so 1/16th would be 25mg. Reading some replies here, it sounds like they are making it much too strong for their dogs.

Our dog is on 650mg of tylan (about 1/4 teaspoon) BID. How many doses would we be able to make from this container??
-
Each tub has 100g of tylan as the active ingredient. You are using 650mg, or 0.650g, twice a day for a total of 1300mg, or 1.3g, administered daily. Assuming these values are correct you should have approximately 76 full doses worth of tylan.
