What about felines? My cat had radiation therapy a few years ago to destroy an enlarged thyroid. I regret that move now b/c his salivary glands and pancreatic beta cells also were destroyed leaving him with rotten teeth (no saliva) and diabetes. I've weaned him off Lantus and he is in remission. He also had half of his teeth removed. He's 16 and I just want to maintain his quality of life.?

When administering ThyroKare is QD or BID dosing preferred for dogs. There seems to be some controversy on this matter. Also, since I live in a location where it can be very hot in the summer (up to 115/120) is it safe to have it delivered during the summer??
-
According to the manufacturer’s product insert, the recommended initial dosage of Thyrokare is administered twice daily. However, your veterinarian may recommend a different dosage frequency based on your dog’s condition. Your veterinarian will also recommend regular blood checks to measure blood thyroid levels to monitor how well your animal’s dose is working. The manufacturer states that ThyroKare should be stored at 20°-25°C (68°-77°F) with excursions allowed between 15° and 30°C (59° and 86°F). If you anticipate a medication delivery during extreme weather conditions, it is recommended to have your order shipped to a location where the package can be received or monitored to prevent it from being exposed to adverse temperatures.
