Q & A

Is renavast as effective with dogs as with cats? I didn't see any reviews for dogs.?
-
Bell, According to the manufacturer, RenAvast has been used in both cats and dogs with no reports of adverse effects. The research conducted by the manufacturer of Renavast discusses a two year clinical trial done only in cats. Additional information about the usage of RenAvast in dogs may be available thru your veterinarian. Contact your veterinarian to determine if the addition of RenAvast would recommended. How does RenAvast help prevent kidney disease??
-
RenAvast contains a mixture of amino acids and peptides, which are used to create proteins. In kidney disease, processing proteins from the diet is difficult and other forms of protein may be limited. While the exact mechanism of action is unclear, according to the manufacturers website, RenAvast aids in supporting cells in the kidneys, helps increase hormones that aid in kidney tissue repair and may help improve kidney filtration rate. RenAvast may also work to help decrease the breakdown of proteins. In addition, RenAvast helps maintain normal kidney blood pressure and blood flow. It is recommended that you contact your veterinarian to determine if they feel RenAvast is an option for the treatment of your pets kidney disease. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can I add Renavast with Kidney support gold? I told my vet about Kidney support gold and she seems to think it is fine to give my 17 year 9 month old cat? ?
-
Unfortunately with supplements there is a lack of clinical information available regarding supplement interactions. The manufacturer of Renavast states there are no adverse effects reported with Renavast and this supplement is comprised of amino acids. Me being unfamiliar with the supplement Kidney Support Gold, I recommend contacting your veterinarian to determine if both supplements are appropriate for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Your instructions say to see package insert for drug interactions. I didn't see any. Where can I find drug interactions and what about interactions with other herbal remedies??
-
Renavast is a blend of amino acids and peptides, which are the building blocks of protein. In kidney disease, processing proteins from the diet is difficult and other forms of protein may be limited. Per the manufacturer’s information, Renavast currently has no known drug interactions; it would still be important to discuss any medications your pet is taking with your pet’s veterinarian to determine safety before using this or any other product. More information about Renavast can be found via the manufacturer’s webpage at www.renavast.com. Thank you, VetRxDirect

how does RenAvast compare to Kidney Support Gold sold on another website? We have had WONDERFUL results with RenAvast so far, and plan on staying on it, but what's the difference in products??
-
RenAvast contains a blend of amino acids and peptides including L-Aspartic acid, L-carnosine, L-Glutamic acid, L-glutamine, Glycine, L-Arginine, and L-Histidine. Amino acids are building blocks for protein. In kidney disease, protein waste products cannot be processed appropriately and often protein in diet is limited. “Kidney Support Gold” appears to include a blend of herbal medications thought to help with energy and immune function, such as cordyceps mycelium (a type of mushroom), rehmannia root, dong quai root, and astragalus root. Herbal medications can have side effects and drug interactions just as prescription medications and should be used cautiously. It would be important to discuss with your pet’s veterinarian if you consider adding any herbal medications to your pet’s drug regimen. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My cat has kidney failure with levels off the chart. We've gotten her on the right track, but still having issues with anemia. Does the RenAvast had any success with that??
-
The manufacturer of RenAvast does not suggest using RenAvast as a treatment for anemia. RenAvast has not been evaluated or studied as a supplement in the treatment of feline anemia. Your veterinarian would be an excellent resource for how to treat anemia issues. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Why is 60 capsules of Renavast for cats $28.99 and 60 capsules of Renavast for dogs $50.49??
-
The capsules for the Renavast for cats is 300 milligram strength and the capsules for dogs is 1000 milligram strength, so the capsule strength is why the Renavast for dogs is more expensive. Thank you, VetRxDirect
