What is the difference between the dog and cat RenaVast? I have a 12 Lb. poodle, should she still get the dog size tablet??
-
RenAvast with a cat on the label is for pets up to 20 pounds and the RenAvast with a dog on the label is for pets over 20 pounds. Your 12 pound poodle would take two small capsules (with a cat on the label) twice a day. You can find dosage tables for any size pet by clicking on the 'Package Insert' tab above. Does renavast come in a liquid formulation.?
-
John, RenAvast does not come in a liquid formulation, it is only available in sprinkle capsules for cats and dogs. The manufacturer does offer some methods for getting a picky eater to consume the RenAvast if your pet is unwilling to eat the food to which RenAvast has been added. The manufacturer suggests: For those super finicky cats, we suggest getting a type of food that you normally do not feed (we refer to this as “junk food”) and mix the RenAvast with a tablespoon of that food. Only give your pet that food when he or she is getting her RenAvast. If that still does not work, you can get a small syringe, about 3mL. Draw up about 1.5mL of water, put that amount of water in small container, mix with the contents of the RenAvast sprinkle capsule and then draw back into the syringe. Then, squirt the contents of the syringe into the pet’s mouth. Be sure to squirt into the side of the mouth and never right down the throat. Always syringe slowly to avoid spilling or causing them to choke. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Is this product safe to give to my three cats??
-
Kenneth, The manufacturers report over 4 million doses have been given with no reported negative side effects. RenAvast can also be given with other medication with no concerns of drug interactions. The lack of any reported side effects or adverse events would indicate that RenAvast would be safe to give for your three cats in the recommended doses. Thank you, VetRxDirect

What changes could I see with my cat taking RenAvast??
-
Brian, Of course each pet is different, but most cat parents report more energy, less vomiting, weight gain with an increase in appetite, coat improvements, more playful and positive changes in their blood work. Although some report changes immediately, typically these changes are seen within a few weeks of taking RenAvast. Ask your veterinarian if adding RenAvast to your pets daily routine would be recommended. Be sure to keep all laboratory appointment if your pets' kidneys are being routinely monitored. Does the capsule powder have a taste? My cat cannot be tricked with powders. It generally needs to be a tasteless powder. If not, what flavor is it??
-
Krista, The powder is not flavored and since it's being mixed with wet cat food, it becomes undetectable. However, some customers have reported cats are attracted to the powder even before it is mixed with the food. Thank you, VetRxDirect
