Miracle Product
I have 2 cats with renal failure, they get week and wobbly in their back legs, and lose one of them loses her appetite at times. You can see dramatic improvement all of the symptoms within 24 hours, especially the appetite. If the wobbling in the back legs has been going on for a long time, then it'll take a week or so to really get to work. The potassium powder is the easiest for me. No matter how finicky my animals are the powder seems to have just about no taste and they don't mind it a bit. My cats don't go for the gels and pastes out there. I would also recommend the Liqui Tinic for anemic animals, whether your vet prescribes it or not, it's a great Iron, B complex, and vitamin supplement.
PetRxDirect is the ONLY pet online pharmacy I'll ever use again. This review is about a year tardy, from my first time ordering. They are so fast with the orders, and it's like they give personal care to each order. I feel like I'm dealing with a family owned small business (maybe it is I don't know) vs a big online pharmacy. Whether that be some free kitty treats to a personal response to my email requesting a change to my order before it was shipped.

Too early to tell. Happy just had a renal panel and the Vet recommended this. The problem is I was already giving it to him for two weeks. Maybe it just needs more time. to take effect.

Cat does not like, but it works
From Las Vegas, NVComments about Renal K+ (potassium gluconate)Some cats love the taste, some hate it. Mine hates it! Per the vet's directions I use 1/2 teaspoon twice per day. I put it on my finger, apply to the roof of her mouth, and immediately follow with a treat. Using this method she allows me to do it because she knows a treat is coming. -

This product was exactly what my kitten needed!
From Flagstaff, ArizonaComments about Renal K+ (potassium gluconate)This product is perfect for my kitten! When he was diagnosed with kidney failure due to a congenital issue, I was devastated. I had no idea how long he would live or what his quality of life would be like. Thanks to Renal K+ and his other meds, my kitten has made it to see his first birthday! VetRxDirect ships this product in a timely manner, and it is much cheaper compared to my vet's office or other websites. The flavor smells like honey, and my cat really seems to like it. This really helps keep his potassium levels normal, and I have not experienced any negative side effects. I will definitely continue to purchase Renal K+ from VetRxDirect, and I recommend it to other pet parents!-
Thanks to Renal K+, Ghost was able to celebrate his first birthday!

My vet gave this to me yesterday after I called them to inform them I came home to find my 16 yr old ( with recently diag Kidney failure) walking with her head down. I started IV fluid treatments under the skin for flushing and they said it is common for potassium to be lost during this process. So my question is when should she start holding her head up again, thankfully she is still trying to eat, that has been a problem for mos until I changed vets?

Please contact your veterinarian regarding your cat or dog’s medical condition.

My cat is on Tumil K gel (1/2 tsp. twice a day). Would this product be the equivalent? And at the same dosage??
-
The dosage directions on Tumil-K gel state that each 2.34gm (½ teaspoon) contains 2mEq (468mg) of potassium gluconate in a palatable base. Dosing directions on Renal K+ state that each 2.5ml (½ teaspoon) contains 2mEq of potassium (as potassium gluconate) in a palatable base. For every 468mg of potassium gluconate, there is 2mEq of potassium. Both of these products are intended to provide 2mEq of potassium for each ½ teaspoon. Recommended dosing for each product is to give ½ teaspoon per 10 lbs (4.5kg) body weight twice daily. Speak with your veterinarian to determine if changing from Tumil K gel to Renal K gel would be recommended. Thank you, VetRxDirect
