My mobile vet approves and is starting to carry this too!
I run a rescue and have 5+ different vets. One of the sanctuary kitties named Tico has hyperthyroid and I have him on prescription meds and Azodyl, but the Azodyl was not all he needed for his kidneys. So I researched and heard about Porus One as a prophylactic solution to help his kidneys. His appetite and well being seems to be greatly improved since adding Porus One to his regimen and I will try to let you know more once we get his next test results. My mobile vet has looked into this product when I mentioned it and is now starting to use it in her practice, so with her being picky about what he gives, I am thinking it reinforces how great it is. Kitten Lady (celebrity kitten rescuer) and several others also recommend this product.

Porus One helped my cat with kidney disease!
From UndisclosedComments about Porus One (Renaltec) 30 Packets (500mg Each)I have a 14 year old Persian cat who has kidney disease, stage 3. After giving her Porus One daily for over 2 months, her creatinine levels have moved into the normal range. This makes me so happy! And she is more active and playful, too!-

No issues so far!
From UndisclosedComments about Porus One (Renaltec) 30 Packets (500mg Each)This was recommended to me by my vet to help with my cat's kidney disease. I was a little afraid that when I added this to his food he would not eat his food or find some way to eat around it. I find this mixes well with wet food and lickable treats and he doesn't mind it when the Porous One is added. I was also afraid this would make him sick, as some of the other supplements/ medications have before, but this has not made him sick at all and he doesn't avoid food when it is added. I'm looking forward to his future lab results to see if this has made an impact.-

My vet recommended it
From UndisclosedComments about Porus One (Renaltec) 30 Packets (500mg Each)My vet recommended this, said it was made specifically for cats based on cat research (vs. dog meds which are often adjusted for cats). My cat has been eating it in his wet food with no problem for a couple months now.-

Easy to Give in Wet Food
From UndisclosedComments about Porus One (Renaltec) 30 Packets (500mg Each)I cannot say whether or not Porus One is working to give my cat Red a longer life with his kidney disease. I only started it a week ago. However, he doesn't even notice that it's in his food, so there is no problem getting a full dose down him daily, unlike most medications.-

Will it work for dogs also??
-
At this time, Porus One is labeled for use in cats only.
Verified Answer -
According to their Facebook- Porus One, if you joined them, which I joined, there are pet parents that gave these to their dogs too. You may ask them question and they respond right away. Porus One helped my cat's ckd to be stabilized. Her vet told me that whatever I am doing, continue it as it is helping my cat. I give this together with Rehmania 6.

Since this is carbon-based and to be given away from medications presumably to avoid absorbing it, does Porus One also absorb the nutrients in cat food or reduce the vitamins and minerals of the food? If not, why not??
-
According to the manufacturer, if your cat takes oral medications, administer Porus One two hours after administering those medications. Porus One does not absorb vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from the diet and is intended to be administered directly with food. Porus One has precisely measured pores on the surface of the Renaltec® carbon spheres. These pores are highly selective to allow the precursors of uraemic toxins to enter the inner channel system, but not important nutritional elements. Vitamins, vital substances, and cells cannot pass through into the carbon spheres because they are too big.
Verified Answer -
No, it will NOT absorb the other nutrients or minerals, because the pores of toxins are too small, so only toxins will be absorbed by the Porus One to excrete in the stools. You need to give 2 hours apart the Porus One from all the supplements. I have been using this for my cat since Nov. 2020 (my brother in UK) shipped them to me, and since then-my cat's creatinine stayed at 2.7 stable ckd. I am so thankful, it is now available in US. You can read and join more in their Facebook Porus One. I joined that and they respond right away. Hope it helps.

Is this a 500mg of a tasteless odorless gel? 1 packet once a day? How is it administered? Can it be mixed with a bit of canned cheese whiz if necessary? Thank you!?
-
Porus One is tasteless and odorless, and is administered to cats once daily. Porus One is composed of small, solid spheres. Porus One can be given with any standard food your cat likes, but also with any kind of special diet. If your cat eats dry food only, you may offer Porus One in a very small amount of moist food or in a cat-paste.
Verified Answer -
Need to give 2 hours apart from all medications.
