Can I order a 5.3 MB compounded capsule? If so, how much is the cost??
-
We are unable to compound a 5.3 mg capsule at this time. However, we do compound a 5 mg capsule and it is generally recommended to dose to the closest available dosage strength. Your veterinarian should be able to assist you with the dosing appropriate for your dog or cat. This medication is also available as an oral suspension if that would work better for your dog or cat. Please consult with your veterinarian about which form and dosage strength of medication are best for your dog or cat.

I have a rx for 1.2 mg piroxicam for my cat who has a mammary tumor. Can I order the 4 mg/ ml suspension from you using that rx? I currently have capsules that I break and mix with water to give to her so ordering the suspension would save me a step.?
-
Sandra, If the veterinarian wrote the prescription for the capsule formulation we are not able to fill for the suspension as written. However, if the veterinarian is willing to write the prescription for the suspension formulation we could compound this for your cat. Thank you, VetRxDirect
