My vet recommended this product for an older dog we have who has arthritis. I started to buy it on line. When I ran out once, I decided not to order again, thinking that it wasn't making much difference. Within a week, my dog was having trouble getting up & walking despite the anti-inflammatory meds he is on. I ordered again & have not run out since. It makes a difference for our old dog, Buddy.

I have been buying this particular product for the past 3-4yrs. now & found it really helps our dogs with joint issues. However, this last batch of chews were very grainy & crumbles terribly. Not sure what to do, may have to look for another product.

My English mastiff buddy

I know that carprofen (rimadyl) helps her but it's hard on liver and kidneys. My vet recommended Phycox as an alternative. I have found that giving a low dose of carprofen in the morning and a dose of Phycox with supper, keeps her comfortable with less worry about side effects. VetRxDirect carries Phycox at an excellent price. I am very happy with the Phycox and also with VetRxDirect. -

We now give her 2 chewable Phycox each morning and she is able to play some without limping. The Vet would be happier if we did not play ball with her at all but she is only 5 and she lives to play with her Tennis balls. It really has helped her a lot. She was also limping if she laid on the floor for any length of time. She no longer has that trouble. She is not very keen on the taste however so we have to give our other dog a half of a Phycox each day when she gets hers. If he eats it she will eat it. Yep she is a spoiled brat but we love her to pieces. I am so thankful I found PetRxDirect because this stuff was $60.00 at the vet's office. This is a much more manageable price especially since I have to give 1/4 of the tub to a dog that doesn't need it to get my "patient" to take it.

Novox is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug used to treat the pain and swelling in aching joints. Phycox is a supplement used to supports the bones, joints, and the immune system while providing antioxidant supplementation. These can be taken together to provide relief from joint pain and stiffness. If you do intend to use the Phycox, note that there is a difference between the initial and the maintenance doses of this medication. Hi I have a 250 pound English mastiff and have been switching over slowly off of medacam and just onto the soft chews. The dosage over 100 pounds is 4-5 chews and I give him 5. I am noticing very soft piles almost diarrhea, can it cause a bit of that??

His stool has already became normal again, but I just want to make sure that since he is 250 pounds and I will be decreasing the chews to 2.5 is this going to be enough for a dog of his size? He has severe knee joint trouble and I have moved him from medicam very slowly over to phycox max and he is doing very well on 5 chews. But it's been 6 weeks and time to drop down to his maintenance dose, and I am worried size vs amount. Thank you.

Phycox is a blend of medications intended to help with joint pain. Ingredients in this medication, such as glucosamine, have been associated with soft stools. This could also be a food allergy/intolerance to a component of the medication. Recommended initial dose for dogs greater than 100 lbs. is 5 chews daily for 4-6 weeks. It is then recommended to decrease to 2 ½ chews thereafter. Decreasing the dose may be an option. My 4 year old boxer 68lbs. is on Novox 100mg. She had tightrope surgery last year and her meniscus removed. She currently is taking the Novox 1 per day in halves am pm, along with the phycox 2 per day. Does she need the Novox daily??
