Pain Relief for My Dog
This product was recommended by my vet, and the generic equivalent provided by VetRxDirect has provided a big boost to my 14 1/2-year-old lab/mutt. She's able to get around easier, limps less, and the customer service in locating the generic equivalent has been great.

I will not buy Meloxidyl again.
Meloxidyl is generic form of Medacam for joint pain. I tried for my Yorkie because it was much cheaper than Medacam. My Yorkie couldn't take the Meloxidyl. It gave her diarrhea.

Their customer service always goes above and beyond. I'm super glad I found them on-line. -
This medication helps my pet.
From UndisclosedComments about Meloxidyl (meloxicam) 1.5mg/mL Oral SuspensionMy dog's vet prescribed it, so I give it to Cello, who has really awful arthritis in his hips. He gets tramadol in the morning and both tramadol and meloxicam at night. I think he recognizes the difference in his pain level is associated with the medications, because if I'm slow giving them to him, he won't settle until I do.-

I would buy this product again and again.
From UndisclosedComments about Meloxidyl (meloxicam) 1.5mg/mL Oral SuspensionWe've been using this product for nearly nine years for Roxy's hip dysplasia pain. We started with the name brand (Meloxicam) and switched over to the generic (Meloxidyl) which is just as good and alot less expensive. She did extremely well on it and showed no signs of pain or discomfort. Earlier this year we had to take her off of it to do Stem Cell Replacement for a torn ACL as well as her hips. We kept he off for several months and even though she was recovering from the procedure she seemed to really slow down and have difficulty walking for any long amount of time. She has since been diagnosed with Arthritis so we decided to put her back on the Meloxidyl and she is improving in her overall mobility and endurance. We are so happy she is back on this product and we highly recommend.-
Roxy aka da princess! 10 years old and very strong willed.

Can I use Benazepril with Meloxicam? Are there any drug interactions? Or is there a website that I can do a drug interaction for dog medicine??
-
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used in the treatment of pain, inflammation, and osteoarthritis in dogs. Benazepril is an ACE Inhibitor used to treat heart failure, high blood pressure, and some forms of kidney disease in dogs and cats. According to Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook, the use of NSAIDs and ACE Inhibitors could potentially increase the risk for kidney toxicity and/or reduce efficacy of the ACE inhibitor (benazepril) in animals with heart or kidney disease. Close veterinary monitoring is advised with the use of these medications together. Please consult your veterinarian with any further questions or concerns regarding the use of these medications for your dog.

-

Our dog is a 14 yr old 7 lb Pappilon with spine and hip arthritis. Out vet gave us Metacam 0.5 mg/ml. While on vacation we ran out and a vet in Texas gave us Meloxidyl 1.5 mg/ml. My question is, are these two comparable dosage wise ?? Thank you !!?
-
Meloxicam suspensions are most commonly sold in two strengths. One contains 0.5 milligrams of meloxicam in each milliliter (0.5mg/mL), such as your bottle of Metacam. The second contains 1.5 milligrams of the active ingredient of meloxicam in each milliliter (1.5mg/mL), such as your bottle of Meloxidyl. One milliliter of the 1.5mg/mL meloxicam suspension would have the same amount of meloxicam as three milliliters of the 0.5mg/mL meloxicam suspension. Please contact your veterinarian to discuss exactly how much of your current bottle your pet should receive and how often.

My german shepherd was given the pill meloxicam 7.5 for pain which he has hip dysplasia. He now weighs 110lbs and had to stop the pill cause it was too strong of a dose. The vet said about putting my shep on an oral form but it costs over 100.00. I don't know how big the bottle or dosage was. Can I use this product if I talk to my Vet??
-
Meloxidyl comes in 10, 32, 100, and 200 ml bottles. The concentration of each is 1.5 mg/ml. Meloxicam is usually dosed at 0.1 mg/kg once daily. For your dog the dose would be approximately 5 mg which would be about 3.3 ml once daily. A dose of 3.3ml once daily a 100ml bottle would last 30 days. A 200ml bottle would last 60 days. Thank you, VetRxDirect
