Lysodren (Mitotane) Tablets for Dogs
The symptoms of Cushing’s Disease – including lethargy, hair loss, itchy skin, and weakness -- can diminish your dog’s quality of life. Prescription Lysodren eases those symptoms and helps him feel better by reducing excess hormones produced by the adrenal gland. Lysodren is prescribed by veterinarians to treat hyperadrenocorticism, commonly known as Cushing’s Disease. Each small tablet contains mitotane, a medication that reduces the amount of corticosteroid hormones produced by the adrenal gland. When the body has too many of these steroids, it can cause Cushing’s Disease and its related symptoms. Lysodren is also prescribed for dogs with some types of adrenal gland cancer.

VetRxDirect handled the Rx perfectly and fast shipped and is very cheap (for an expensive drug). As for the drug itself - the need and efficacy for your pet is certainly best left for the vet and your observation of clinical symptoms -

From UndisclosedComments about Lysodren (Mitotane)My husband and I have a 12 year old Beagle who was diagnosed with Cushings disease. We have started him on this two weeks ago at 2 pills per day. Bailey just had his first round of blood tests and is already making progress. We searched other sites for prices and this was by far the best price. I think my veterinarian thought so too. It arrived quicker then the shipping date as well. So far so good :o) I'll update this after his next blood test if that is an option. -

Does lysodren come in liquid form??

The brand Lysodren does not come in a liquid form, however the drug Mitotane, which is what Lysodren contains, does come in an oral liquid. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Do I need a prescription from my vet to order this? Also can I purchase less than 100 tablets??

Yes, Lysodren is a prescription medication, and we will need a prescription from a licensed United States veterinarian. We can take that in a couple of ways - once an order is placed, we can send a fax over to the clinic requesting the prescription, or the clinic may choose to issue you a written prescription, which you can then mail in to us.
