Can it cause diaharria in an older dog??
-
Levocrine (levothyroxine sodium) is a thyroid hormone used to treat hypothyroidism in animals. When the appropriate thyroid replacement dose is given, there should not be any adverse effects associated with therapy. Chronic overdosage of this medication will cause signs of hyperthyroidism, including fast heart rate, increased thirst, increased hunger, and excessive panting. In single acute overdoses vomiting, diarrhea, and fast heart rate have been seen. Talk to your veterinarian to determine if your dog's diarrhea can be attributed to this medication or some other underlying issue. Thank you, VetRxDirect
