I will buy this product continually from VetRx.
From Grass Valley, CAComments about Leukeran (chlorambucil)My cat is alive because VetRx has fair prices. Retail pharmacies are crazy expensive. My old vet office price was $80.00 more so I save a lot of money ordering on line. The Leukeran arrives in a refrigerated cooler. My vet prescribed this 2mg chemo med on Sunday and Wednesday and 2.5mg Prednisolone tabs the other days. He takes 1/2 Pepcid everyday. He is sleepy sometimes the day after chemo but hours later he is doing great, happy and playful. Warehouse and retail Rx stores will rob you blind.-
Thank you VetRx

This drug is very expensive but it's the lowest price around
From San Clemente, CAComments about Leukeran (chlorambucil)This drug is very expensive but it's the lowest price for this drug that I have found anywhere with the exception to compounding but my veterinarian isn't sold on this drug in a compound and hasn't found it to work as well as the actual drug. -

Helpful alternative to steroids
From Michigan, USAComments about Leukeran (chlorambucil)Our cat Buster was looking a little skinny, so we took him for a vet visit. We're glad we did because 24 hours, and several medical tests later, left us knowing that our 5 1/2 year old cat was severely anemic and had an enlarged heart. Because of the heart condition, Buster couldn't take a steroid to increase his red blood cell count and was prescribed Luekeran instead. Over the course of the first month on this drug, the price went up and the local animal hospital stopped carrying it - and the dozen other local pharmacies we called were VERY expensive. We're so glad we found this website! It shipped overnight and was at a cheaper price than we found anywhere else. The pill itself is small, so we've had success putting it in his wet food. He eats it and we don't have the struggle of pilling him. Buster's blood levels are on the way up and we are happy the Luekeran is helping him. -
Newton is alive 4 years after a lymphoma diagnosis
From Burbank, CA, USAComments about Leukeran (chlorambucil)Newton (my cat) was diagnosed with lymphoma in his small intestines in March of 2011. With the help of Leukeran and several different steroids he has survived this cancer for four years when he was only given a life expectancy of 18 month. He has a voracious appetite, is full of energy and appears to still have a great quality of life. Leukeran is very expensive and the price has doubled since he began chemo, but it's been worth the investment. If you can find a compounding pharmacy in your area it is possible to reduce the cost of the medication by almost 50%. I used VetRx because my compounding pharmacy had a difficult time finding Leukeran. Vet Rx's price for Leukeran is comparable to other online pharmacies. They correctly packed the medication on ice and delivered it two days after I ordered. They did a great job filling my prescription when my compounding pharmacy couldn't. I would recommend them to anyone for very professional, speedy service and providing the real medication at a competitive price. -
Saving my cat's life!
From Albuquerque, NM, USAComments about Leukeran (chlorambucil)I have been purchasing Lukeran through VetRXDirect for over a year now because the cost is much less expensive than purchasing it through my veterinarian. My 16 year old girl was given 1 to 2 years to live in July 2012; she is still with me thanks to this drug.-

Regarding Chlorambucil for my dog: A new pharmacy we are trying does not require refrigeration for shipping or storage, yet the original source has always directed refrigeration for both. Why the difference? And what are the risks for not refrigerating??
-
The pharmacist contacted the manufacturer and a representative stated that Leukeran MUST be shipped with ice at the 2° to 8°C (36° to 46°F). This is important due to the possibility of drug decomposition thus not being effective. We recommend having your product shipped with ice and stored as advised by the manufacturer. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Our 5 lb. dog takes c-chlorambucil 2mg capsule every 72 hours & 1/2 of a VSL#3 capsule (inside medicine, not capsule itself per vet's instruction) daily for (suspected) lymphangiectasia. Could this cause her to gain weight? She eats a low fat dog food.?
-
Typically, weight gain does not occur when taking either medication but bloating is possible with VSL capsules. If you suspect your dog has gained weight or is experiencing some bloating we recommend following up with your veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My cat will not take chlorambcil orally any more but my vet says not to order the topical because the dosage is unpredictable - but since my cat spits it out that is too. What do you think of topical??
-
Lucy, Since the topical dosage form of chlorambucil (brand name Leukeran) is possibly unpredictable there is an increased risk of dose variability for each dose given to your pet. VetRxDirect only carries the commercially-available Leukeran. Contact your cat's veterinarian to determine the next course of action for your cat’s drug therapy. Thank you, VetRxDirect

How long can chlorambucil be left out of the refrigerator? What is the maximum temperature for storage??
-
The tablets should be stored in light-resistant, well-closed containers in the refrigerator where the temperature is between 2-8C (36-46F). The tablets should be kept from freezing. The manufacturer has information indicating that the tablets can be stored at a maximum of 30C (86F) up to one week and still maintain potency. Thank you, VetRxDirect

our vet has us giving leukeran to our dog to reduce a severe infection caused by intestinal lymphangiectasia which is out of control... what are your thoughts of using this drug for this... we are also giving injections of dexamethasone SP 4mg/ml also.?
-
AnnieG, Chlorambucil (Leukeran™) is an alkylating agent typically used for treatment of cancer. The medication works by binding to DNA strands so the DNA can not replicate thus stopping the cancer growth. Many cancerous and non-cancerous tissues can be targeted with this medication, and this drug treatment may be used for diseases where the immune system attacks the body. Lymphangiectasia is most commonly developed from a congenital malformation of the lymphatics, but can be caused by granulomas or cancer-causing lymphatic obstructions as well. Chlorambucil is an option for your pet’s intestinal lymphangiectasia depending on the severity of the disease and the potential underlying cause. Dexamethasone is used in combination with chlorambucil to further decrease the swelling and inflammation due to the underlying disease. If the pet is experiencing an infection from an outside source then the addition of an antimicrobial agent may be appropriate. For further assistance regarding your pet’s disease state or possible infection please contact your veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect
