Fantastic product, no more fleas!
I bought the K9 Advantix II after moving in to a new home that had fleas in the yard and a big mosquito problem. With my miniature dachschund never having fleas before and worry of heartworm from the mosquitoes I had to do something quickly. I checked reviews for the latest products to prevent and remove these nuisances and pricing and found K9 Advantix II covered all of my bases. My fur baby is happy and so am I.

Made my dog twith
I was wondering why my dog's back was twitching and realized that I switched back to k9 Advantix from Front Line. Because before using Front Line, she was twitching too and I didn't know why. I googled it and found out some dogs have "horrible neuro symptoms". Since I used one pack, I couldn't get the refund from the website, so I called the manufacturer and they kindly refunded for me. I don't think ALL dogs have that type of reaction, but just pay attention to your dog and be careful!!

not for everybody
From UndisclosedComments about K9 Advantix II for DogsOne of my dogs was too sensitive for this. Skin had to be washed a couple times and took several days to feel better. -
I would buy it again.

All we use
From UndisclosedComments about K9 Advantix II for DogsWorks great and not as greasy as other ones I have tried. Only product that worked with the fleas in 2017. I prefer the topical to the oral flea meds because if they have a reaction, just give them a good scrubby bath and most of the med is gone. With oral, not so easy. -
Very good
From UndisclosedComments about K9 Advantix II for DogsI've used it for about 5 years and I'm very happy with it -
another constant in our family life
From UndisclosedComments about K9 Advantix II for DogsThis product works well in concert with HeartGuard... we live in the country near a wetland where mosquitoes are bad most summers... the dogs are safe and well protected and do not seem to be bothered by fleas either. We also have a very large number of squirrels in the area as well as birds.... so important to use this product. We also do NOT have cats at this time- as this product would not be good for them.

Should flea and tick prevention be used year-round, especially if my dog is in contact with other dogs at a park or in boarding??
-
Christine, It is good idea to keep your dog on flea prevention year around if your dog is exposed to other animals, even if you live in an area where there is snow and below freezing temperatures in the winter. Your dog's veterinarian can help you choose the right flea and tick prevention for your area. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I have an English mastiff weight is 125 to 130 the k9 advantix is for 55 and over do I apply two pks for 55 and over or do I just use one ? I cant see one pk being enough. please advise thanks denise?

Denise, The recommendations on the label state that one dose of the over 55-pound size of Advantage II or K9 Advantix II for extra large dogs should suffice. These products are topical (in the oils of the skin) and while there are weight guidelines, being ON the skin (rather than IN the dog) it really has more to do with the surface area of the dog, than it does with the weight. It is felt that once a dog gets so big, surface area doesn’t change so closely with the weight. / / If you feel that the one dose is not doing the trick (such as, if you see fleas) a second dose can be applied after 7 days. This is on the label, so it is an approved use. Doubling up the dose (2 doses applied the same day) is not on the label, so would be considered “off-label” and therefore not an approved dose. If you are concerned about coverage, you should contact your veterinarian for their recommendation on the most appropriate flea and tick preventative for your mastiff. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My dog fluctuates between 10 and 11 pounds. Would the small container be enough for her? The Vectra 3D, which I want to switch away from, always seemed like too much liquid for her body.?
-
Len, The 11-20 pound K9 Advantix is just as safe to use as the 1-10 pound variation. Since your dog does push the 11 pound threshold, we would recommend the 11-20 pound variation. 1-10 pound K9 Advantix contains 0.4mL of product and the 11-20 pound K9 Advantix contains 1.0mL of product, so the amount is more than double. The volume of product would be a concern for either size. We hope this information helps you in deciding with product to use for flea and tick prevention. Your dog's veterinarian is the best source for information for your pet and your area. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can you use k9 Advantix II on your dog when you have cats in the home??
-
Janette, K9 Advantix II can be used on dogs in mixed pet (dog & cat) households, but it is recommended by the manufacturer to separate the cats from the freshly treated dog for at least 24 hours. DO NOT USE ON CATS K9 Advantix II is not for use in cats, as cats are unable to metabolize permethrin. Hope this helps, VetRxDirect
