Gel eyedrops are a welcome eye treatment
My pug suffers from dry eyes. I was giving him human eyedrops, but I couldn't always administer them as often as he needed them. The gel iDrops last longer and soothe his eyes better than the human drops. My vet was very happy that I found these drops and enthusiastically sanctioned my using them.
Most Liked Negative Review
Kept giving my dog an eye infection and drainage1
The product arrived quickly and as described. My poor review is not negative due to VetRX Direct. Everytime I use the drops my dog ended up with an eye infection so I would not recommend because I won't be able to use this product.

My dog fights me to when I got to insert the drops the only way is to squirt it into the eye but I waste it all is it posable to dilute the solution or can you make something that will work at a distance an inch or 2 away is ok ??? Im sure im not the only one that has a pet that just isn't going to be cooperating to put the drops in ??
-
If you are having difficulty administering eye drops to your pet, you may consider consulting with your veterinarian for advice, and they can demonstrate an effective technique. The I-DROP Vet Gel is a thicker consistency, and is designed to provide longer hydration to the eye. The I-DROP Vet Plus is a thinner, liquid drop. Both of these products are sterile eye solutions, and should be administered directly from the bottle. Diluting or altering the solution could affect the safety and efficacy of the product.

My 12 year old female Chihuahua has been on "Optimmune" ointment for over a year for treatment of keratoconjuntivitis sicca. Would this product be an appropriate substitute? The ointment is difficult to use - and I think drops would be easier.?
-
Optimmune and I-DROP are different eye treatment products. I-DROP Vet Gel and Vet Plus are over the counter lubricant eye drops designed to hydrate and help relieve symptoms of dry eye in dogs and cats. It contains hyaluronan and glycerin as lubricants to moisturize the eye. Optimmune is a prescription ointment which contains cyclosporine, an immunosuppressant drug. Optimmune works by suppressing the immune system and is indicated to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) in dogs as well as other eye diseases. I-DROP products do not contain ingredients labeled to affect the immune system. Please consult with your veterinarian before using I-DROP, or regarding any further questions with this medication and your dog.

This product is used to lubricate the eye, and provide relief for moderate dry eye. VetRxDirect does not offer opinions or recommendations for over-the-counter products. My Westie had cataract surgery a few years ago and I have been using lubrication drops daily. On a recent trip to a new ophthalmologist she recommended Idrop. After using it for a few weeks I noticed that the fur around his eyes, nose and mouth was brown and stained. He has never in his 13 years had any staining on his face. I have since stopped using Idrop and am waiting for his fur to grow out. My own veterinarian is wondering if the ingredients may be responsible. Nothing had changed in his daily routine other than the eye drop change. Wondering if anyone else has had this possible side effect.?
-
For my dog who has dry eye, can I use a dry-eye drop for humans instead of this product? I find this product very difficult to squeeze the drops out. Other drops are much easier to use.?
-
Unfortunately, pharmacists are not able to legally recommend specific over-the-counter products for animals unless under the direction and guidance of a veterinarian. Your veterinarian would be the best resource to ask advice as they will have a valid, ongoing relationship and medical history for your pet.
