From Greensboro, NC, USAComments about GlycoFlexWe buy this supplement for our Lab mix and our senior Mini Schnauzer. The Lab mix has had both of his back CCLs replaced, and the senior struggles with arthritis. They love the taste of the "treat" and it comes highly recommended by their vet. joint relief
From MichiganComments about GlycoFlexMy Bichon Sami was attacked by a very large neighborhood dog and pretty badly injured. After 3 hours of surgery and many weeks of recovery, she was able to walk again but limped excessively. The vet recommended Glyco-Flex and I was amazed to see how soon she was her old self again. I have to say I didn't expect the results we got but was thrilled with it. I now have both our Bichons on your product. And they do think it's a treat.

What's the rationale for the initial vs maintenance dose? Would it be harmful to keep giving the initial dose if my dog seems to be doing well on that dose??
-
The rationale for the initial dose is to get the medication into the joints faster for your pet, then the maintenance dose keeps drug levels right where they need to be. There have been many studies with this product and it is very safe. There were no toxicities or harm seen at high doses. With that being said, the manufacturer states to drop to a maintenance dose (lower dose) after the initial dose because there isn’t any evidence that the initial dose is better than the maintenance dose over the long term. Talk with your veterinarian about alternative dosing for Glyco-Flex if the maintenance dose doesn’t seem to be as effective.

what is the difference in Glyco-Flex I, II, and III??
-
The primary difference between the Glyco-Flex products is the formulation of the supplement. The supplement is intended for different stages of joint support. Glyco-Flex I is intended for dogs and puppies needing basic joint support. Glyco-Flex II is intended for dogs needing moderate joint support, including adult and maturing dogs, sporting and working breeds, and as a follow-up to orthopedic surgery. Glyco-Flex III is intended for dogs with the greatest need for joint support, including older and working dogs, and can also be used as a follow-up to orthopedic surgery. Your dog’s veterinarian can point you to the right stage for your dog. The ingredients for the chewable tablets are provided below as a comparison for the different stages. The soft chews have a slightly different formulation, but share many of the same basic ingredients. Glyco-Flex I Chewable Tablets Perna Canaliculus (GlycOmega brand Green Lipped Mussel) 600mg Glucosamine HCl (shrimp and crab) 500mg N, N-Dimethylglycine HCl 100mg Inactive Ingredients: Brewers yeast, cellulose, natural imitation roast chicken flavor, silicon dioxide, stearic acid Glyco-Flex II Chewable Tablets Glucosamine HCl (shrimp and crab) 750mg Perna Canaliculus (GlycOmega brand Green Lipped Mussel) 600mg Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) 500mg N, N-Dimethylglycine HCl 100mg Manganese (as Mn Amino Acid Chelate) 10mg Inactive Ingredients: Brewers yeast, natural imitation roast chicken flavor, silicon dioxide, stearic acid Glyco-Flex III Chewable Tablets Glucosamine HCl (shrimp and crab) 1000mg Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) 1000mg Perna Canaliculus (GlycOmega brand Green Lipped Mussel) 600mg N, N-Dimethylglycine HCl 100mg dl-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) 50 IU Calcium Ascorbate (Vitamin C) 30mg Manganese (as Mn Amino Acid Chelate) 10mg Grape Seed Extract 5mg L-Glutathione 2mg Selenium (as Sodium Selenite) 0.002mg Inactive Ingredients: Brewers yeast, cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, natural imitation roast chicken flavor, silicon dioxide, stearic acid Thank you, VetRxDirect
