Works as promised!
I've been using this for the passed 4 weeks to help my 2 yr old pup get around after knee surgery. The sling supports her no problem and enables her to go up steps while I hold her back legs in the air (haven't tried down - she gets carried). However, it's the ability to attached the sling to the collar that makes this product so great. This feature keeps her from slipping out of the sling. Especially when she so over enthusiastically sniffs the grass or tries convincing me to take her for a walk by pulling down the sidewalk. (Hard to keep a young dog inactive for 4 weeks and more.)
Only hard part about ordering this product is getting the sizing right. My pup is a 65-70 lb sheppard-cattle dog-lab mix, so she has a barrel chest (more so than I thought) and a little waist. The large is a little too wide for her, causing it to bunch at the front where her ribs are. I highly suggest measuring your dog before ordering.
Tip: I found using her collar, instead of her harness, with the sling makes it easier to control her movement and direct her.

Good idea
I watched the video before ordering, but didn't think about how different it would work for a male dog. Yes, I ordered the right one, but I would never use this on a walk with him, as it either covers him, or slips back and pushes him wrong. I suppose that's okay, as we really bought it for going up and down the 7 stairs to get outside. I'm trying to "practice" with him on level ground when he's fairly fresh in the day, and he's not adapting well at all. We really need this as his hind legs continue to degenerate. Maybe when he's less able to try on his own, he'll be more willing to let us use this Ginger Lead.

Good quality product
From UndisclosedComments about GingerLeadWorks great, although my dog is very slow adjusting to it. He doesn't want to walk with it, but we're still working on it. -

Very helpful
From Tennessee, USAComments about GingerLeadBought this to help my senior boxer with mobility issues. It works very well; one change I would make would be to velcro it to itself so it wouldn't fall off the abdomen when you let go of the handles. -
Perfect solution!!!
From Aiea, HI, USAComments about GingerLeadMy dog had double hip surgery and this product was perfect!!! Soft, comfortable for my female border collie and really easy for me to support her as much as I needed. Very adjustable to many different heights - awesome!!!! -
Great Features
From Sonoma, CA, USAComments about GingerLeadI purchased this sling about a month ago previous to my Westie's double rear knee surgery. She is 16 1/2 years of age, and this sling has really helped her. It is padded for comfort and does not slip. Very comfortable. I sampled others before her surgery and they did not come close to this one. In fact they were awkward and slipped around. I totally recommend this one. -
Failed
From Washington, D.C., DC, USAComments about GingerLeadI tried using the Ginger Lead with Claudia but found that it didn't fit snugly (as in your picture) but slipped to the side of our 90 pound German Shepherd. She seemed uncomfortable and refused to do her business when the lead was on her. The failure of her back legs wasn't much ameliorated. Since then, her condition declined and we had to have her put down. I am not sure that there is anything useful I can do now with the lead -
Very helpful!
From Cherry Hill, NJ, USAComments about GingerLeadSadly my little doggie passed away before I could use this fully. The few times I used it worked very well. I gave it to a friend with an elderly dog who needed it. -
Not very helpful
From Seattle, WA, USAComments about GingerLeadI bought the Gingerlead a few weeks ago and it has not been as helpful as I had inticipated. It doesn't stay on very well and the handle is way to tall for me- not very adjustable either. I am bummed as I thought this would help my old dog with walking and staying active- Over priced for what you get. -
Worth every penny!
From Ohio, USAComments about GingerLeadThis is a great product and i researched many options before deciding on this one. Easy to use once you get the hang of the velcro handle closure. Highly recommend/exceptional quality item
