Is the 50mg available now? I've tried to get it locally and it's not available. Also, my vet said to split the pills. Are they scored??
-
Currently, we have all three strengths available. There have been some shortage issues, but at this time, 50mg, 100mg, and 200mg are available. The 50mg tablets are not scored, but with a pill splitter, should be splittable. Thank you, VetRxDirect

how long does it take for fluconazole take to start killing the fungi in your dog with valley fever?
-
baby, Antifungal therapy is typically given for 8 to 12 months to treat coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever). The duration of therapy will vary on factors such as extent of infection and health of your pet. Fluconazole may take 6 to 14 days to reach a steady level in the body after beginning the therapy. So the medication may be fighting off the infection after a week of taking it but improvement of symptoms may take longer. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Why has the price for Fluconazole tablets 200 mg gone up from $.69 a tablet when I last brought it to $3.25?
-
Denise, There has been a recent nationwide shortage of Fluconazole which has caused a price spike and caused some availability issues. Unfortunately, we do not know if or when we can expect the price to drop again. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can fluconazole be cut in half and given to a do??
-
Kristi, It is possible to split fluconazole tablets if a different dosage is required, however, the tablets are not scored and are not circular shaped. This means there is a likelihood of a split tablet not yielding equal parts. Please ask your veterinarian if splitting tablets would be appropriate given your pet's condition. Thank you, VetRxDirect
