My cat, Critter, is doing well on the 2.5mg Felimazole for her hyperthyrodism. I am happy with VetRxdirect and have been impressed with the staff there.
Most Liked Negative Review
Stupid shaped pill
In 2 weeks we have worn through a pill cutter because of the super thick hard coating on the pills. They are also round not flat so portioning them is a nightmare.
If your pet needs a partial dose do not order these, get the generic and save yourself the headaches. These pills are really poorly designed, wish I could exchange them

Our older cat got her health back.
From near Franklin Pa.Comments about Felimazole (methimazole)When we found out she needed this medication she started to bounce back in a couple of weeks. She's going on 16 and you wouldn't believe her at playtime. She's the fastest cat in the east! She's been taking it over a year. -

Easy to give for a hard-to-pill cat
From ArizonaComments about Felimazole (methimazole)Much easier to give than the human 5 mg tablets, less cutting to get smaller doses. Good price as well! -
A prescription drug that met my cat's needs perfectly!
From Marysville, CAComments about Felimazole (methimazole)Our vet diagnosed our almost 11 year old Siamese cat with hyperthyroidism. It has kept her thyroid level where it is supposed to be. It is a tiny pill, and very easy to give. She has to have it twice a day. A simple fix for a health problem that could have become very serious without this treatment. Also, the price at VetRxDirect is far lower than that at our vet hospital. I also received free shipping, another big plus! -
Efficient
From Denver, CO, USAComments about Felimazole (methimazole)Once your set up with you Vet, this process is extremely fast and much more cost effective. -
praise for product and vetrxdirect
From Washington, DC, USAComments about Felimazole (methimazole)my cat has been on this medication for awhile, but i just found vetrxdirect and their prices are much better than my vet's. they did their best to get my vet to respond with the prescription without much luck, so i did have to step in. this caused a longer delay than i had hoped for (thus the 4 star rating instead - perhaps knowing when the request was first sent would have helped). -
Amazing
From Kaysville, UT, USAComments about Felimazole (methimazole)I bought my cats meds through VetRxDirect because it was really expensive through my local doctor. It was cheaper, the exact same medicine and it arrived extremely fast. Happy cat happy mom. Thank you!! I'll be ordering again.

Does the coating on Felimazole cover up the very bitter taste and probably offensive smell? What function does a coating accomplish??
-
Felimazole has a sugar coated formulation to improve palliability of methimazole. It does help cover up the bitter taste if swallowed immediately, and the tablets do not possess an offensive smell. The manufacturer states that the tablet should not be crushed or broken. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should wear gloves when handling tablets, litter or bodily fluids of cats treated with Felimazole.
