great for kennel cough
From UndisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin) 22.7mg Flavored Tabletthis is an excellent product for GI problems, GU problems, uterine problems and respiratory problems. it is a fluorquinolone like cipro for humans, also good for all of those problems .I especially like it in combination with a low dose of dexamethasone for kennel cough, stops it in one or two doses if you catch it right away. I am not a vet but a physician MD -

Quality and Affordable Antibiotic
From undisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)My pup with a tracheostomy requires enrofloxacin on a daily basis. This was becoming very expensive purchasing from my veterinarian so I researched and found vetrxdirect to be the most affordable online pet pharmacy with the same quality products as one would receive from the veterinarian' s office. -
I would buy from VetRX again.

From Akron, OHComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)I have an elderly dog with an enlarged heart and prone to respiratory infections. This medication has been very helpful for her to get her started at first signs of infection then I get her to the vet for follow up. -
I would purchase this again if my pet needed it.
From Wilmington, DEComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)The only draw back was she did not like the flavor and would not eat the pills unless hidden in peanut butter. This is very unusual as she is a vacuum and will eat anything given to her. -
Fixed my dog's tummy problems
From UndisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)I am almost through 2 weeks of pills and my dog is doing much better. I also started him on new food and a new probiotic, so it's likely a combination of all three. He doesn't like the taste of the chewable, so I just pop it in a pill pocket and then he eats it right down.

My dog has been diagnosed with IBD and is not allowed to have chewable meds because of the flavorings. Is this safe for dogs on a hypoallergenic diet??
-
If your veterinarian has recommended that you avoid chewable medications, it is not advisable to give the chewable, flavored enrofloxacin to your dog without his or her approval. Enrofloxacin is available as an unflavored, film-coated tablet under the brand name Baytril. This may be a safer choice for your dog based on the history of IBD. If your veterinarian approves of the unflavored tablet, it could then be given to your pet in a hypoallergenic pill pocket. Baytril film-coated tablets and hypoallergenic pill pockets are available through our website. We recommend that you discuss this with your veterinarian, and he or she will help you make the best choice for your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect

A dog I recently saved from death row at the shelter showed signs of kennel cough since the moment she got to her new home.. I was told to quarantine her and symptoms would diminish on its own without medical attention. Well now my 4 year old pup has contracted the cough and my pup I saved has green mucus coming from her nose and a little difficulty breathing due to a stuffy nose (she sounds like I did a week ago sick with a bug) she's still eating and still drinking. No fever and still wants attention. Should this kill the kennel cough virus along with the secondary infection it seems she has contracted ??
-
Kennel cough (infectious tracheobronchitis) is commonly caused by the canine viruses and infects dogs kept in close confinement such as a shelter or clinic. Kennel cough is also highly contagious and is easily spread; which explains why your other dog may have become infected. Antibiotics are also commonly prescribed due to a possible bacterial infection. If your veterinarian has diagnosed your dog with a secondary bacterial infection, he or she may prescribe an antibiotic for your dog. Please consult with your veterinarian to determine the best treatment options for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

can this be given in food??
-
Enrofloxacin is an antibiotic medication that can be given with food, however, the tablets should be given whole and not chewed or crushed. Do not give enrofloxacin with a treat containing any dairy or within two hours of a dairy product because it may prevent absorption of the medication. Also, if your pet is taking any kind of multivitamin, do not administer enrofloxacin within 2 hours of that multivitamin. It is important that pet stays hydrated while on this medication so make sure he or she has access to water at all times. Caution is advised when using enrofloxacin in pets younger than 8 months of age or those that are still growing as it may cause abnormalities in growing cartilage. Please consult your veterinarian regarding the best treatment options for your individual pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect
