Disappointed
From Fishersville, VAComments about Enisyl-F (L-Lysine)My cats have been taking these treats for quite some time now. I came online to buy them, so I didn't have to keep running to the vet's office to get some. The treats I receive from the vet are very fresh and soft, making it easy for my cats to eat. However, the ones I bought from vetrxdirect are very hard. I opened them the day I received them, and my cats spit them out. I tried breaking the treats up, they wouldn't even do that! They are hard as bricks! Very disappointing. -

Lysine Treats
From St Augustine, FL, USAComments about Enisyl-F (L-Lysine)We have 13 indoor cats and when we get a herpes URI it goes through most of the menagerie. Most of them find this treat palatable and will eat it. I wish they could make a lysine treat that tasted better than this one does but it is about the best thing out there.
Q & A
-
I'm wondering if these are small, crunchy treats as opposed to the chewy fish shaped ones. My cats seem to prefer the former and I haven't been able to find them and our vet changed brands. ?
-
Enisyl-F Lysine Treats by Vetoquinol, contain 250mg of L-lysine in every 6 treats and do have a crunchy texture. Confirm with your veterinarian if Enisyl-F Lysine Treats would be appropriate for your cats and how many treats would be recommended on a daily basis. Thank you, VetRxDirect

we have a himalaya cat diagnosed with herpes and currently given viralys but just found enisyl-f on your site and was wondering which might be the best to used as well as most economical. She does not like to be given viralys but she still gets it?
-
Dennis, Both Enisyl-F and Viralys are L-lysine supplements, there is a difference in the route of administration - Enisyl-F is available in an oral paste and in treat form and Viralys is available as an oral gel or a powder that can be added to food. Your cat's veterinarian can help guide you as far as whether one makes better sense for you and your cat if there are sensitivities to any of the other ingredients - ingredient lists can be found on each products page on the website under the package insert tab. As far as what makes the most sense economically: Enisyl-F oral paste: 250mg of L-Lysine per 1 milliliter of paste Enisyl-F treats: 250mg of L-Lysine per 6 treats Viralys gel: 250mg of L-Lysine per 1.25 milliliters of gel Viralys powder: 500mg per rounded scoop of powder Your cat's veterinarian can provide you with a recommendation for the amount of L-Lysine needed for your cat. Thank you, VetRxDirect
