What is the difference between Effipro for cats and Effipro plus for cats.?

The difference between Effipro and Effipro plus is Effipro plus contains pyriproxyfen and Effipro does not. The common insecticide between both products is fipronil. Fipronil disrupts the central nervous system of the insect when it comes into contact with the product. Effipro plus also contains pyriproxyfen which is an insect growth regulator. When an adult touches/ingests the pyriproxyfen it interrupts egg-laying and egg-hatching which prevents them from multiplying. Please contact your veterinarian to determine the appropriate product for your cat.

My cat has kidney failure is effipro flea solution safe to be put on him and is drontal worm tablets safe for him to have as well ?

Lolly, Drontal contains the drug praziquantel which is broken down in the liver and the metabolites are removed by the kidneys. If a cat has kidney failure, their kidneys are not functioning optimally. Because the activity of these metabolites is unknown, they may have some effects that may or may not be harmful if not removed by the kidneys. It is best to speak with your cat's veterinarian regarding the use of Drontal tablets.
