there's no other quite as helpful...
From NY, USAComments about DOUXO Micellar SolutionDouxo keeps dogs & cats ears clean and trouble free when used a few times a month for regular cleansing of the inner ears. Be sure to wear gloves as it can irritate fingernails and surrounding skin. It's also helpful for hot spots and minor skin irritations. However, use with caution and address any signs of allergic reaction., I have never seen any occur in any of my cats or dogs....but its always best to observe closely to be certain... -

Q & A

My cat had an ear polyp removed but there's still a little bit left in her ear as the vet said it would stay there cuz I can't get it all out. Her ear drains and it smells bad but she has no other issues with it. Will this help cleanse and dry the ear? I need something to help with the odor as well as help heal anything that might still be in there?
-
While DOUXO is designed to help restore the skin barrier and reduce inflammation, it might not help with odor. Persistent drainage from your cat’s ear that smells bad could be a sign of an ear infection or some other problem that needs a careful diagnosis and treatment plan from your veterinarian. Please consult your veterinarian regarding any further questions or concerns regarding this medication in your cat.

After either method, then gently massage the base of the ear for 60 seconds. Remove the cotton ball (if used) and allow the pet to shake its head. Is this only to be used on the outer ear surfaces and not to be put inside the ear canal??
-
According to the manufacturer, DOUXO Micellar Solution is labeled for cleaning the ear canal, eye contour and skin folds. It may also clean soiled hair or greasy skin associated with seborrheic conditions. The directions for use allow for two methods to clean ears. For ear cleaning, ask your veterinarian which of the two following protocols is best for your pet: 1) Moisten a cotton ball with solution and place in the entrance of the ear canal; OR 2) Hold the ear flap upwards and fill the ear canal with solution. Then gently massage the base of the ear for 60 seconds. Remove the cotton ball (if used) and allow the pet to shake its head. Gently wipe away visible debris and excess solution with a clean, dry cotton ball. To clean other areas of skin, moisten a cotton ball or gauze with solution and gently wipe the area according to the manufacturer. Please consult your veterinarian to determine the best way to utilize this product for your pet’s needs.

Can you tell me if your Douxo Micellar Solution is the same thing as something called Lotion Micellaire. I was told that this product helps with tear staining in dogs - do you know if these are the same products and does it work??
-
Doretta, Sorry, but these are not the same products or ingredients. Micellar formulation refers to microspheres that help to distribute the ingredients of the ear cleansing solution. Thank you, VetRxDirect
