Denamarin is a staple for our Timmy
Our Sheltie has been on Denamarin for over 2 years due to high liver enzymes and a recommendation for gall bladder removal due to sludge and a forming mucocele. We elected not to do the surgery as he was 10 1/2, and try to treat with Denamarin and very low fat food, as well as Ursodiol for the sludge and homeopathic remedies. I cannot say his numbers are better. They are actually worse and we know his liver may never be completely normal. But outside of occasional bouts of diarrhea, he has not been clinical and living a fairly normal life for a now almost 13 year old blessing. Yes, we have had to stay on top of things and spend money to do it, but there was no other choice. A precious part of our family. Can't say for sure how much Denamarin played in this, but we have given it to him faithfully and with recommendations and reviews, we will continue this supplement.
Most Liked Negative Review
Our beagle hates the taste of these.
I am so bummed but our dog spits this right out. In order to be able to use them up I'm resorting to dividing them in quarters and putting cheese around them. Our dog won't even take this in peanut butter. Thankfully for now she will take the regular Denamarin still with peanut butter. It is just more of a hassle so I was hoping the chewable a would have worked.

From undisclosedComments about Denamarin Chewable TabletsMy local vet recommended Denamarin in conjunction with Vetoryl (for Cushings disease in my Yorkie). Both products seem to be effective and MUCH cheaper than the cost at my vet! I will continue to use as long as my Yorkie continues to be healthier. -
I will buy this medication indefinitely.
From undisclosedComments about Denamarin Chewable TabletsMy 15 year old dachshund has a terminal liver disease, per our vet. This med has bought him some extra years, and he is still playful and active. The VetRxDirect price is significantly better than the vet price for the exact same medication. -

My dog has been taking Denamarin tablets for the past 4 yrs. She has just recently started to vomit the tablet, up to 8 hrs after taking it. It appears as though it is not getting absorbed. I have tried giving it to her in the chewable form, and that seems to be working. Is this a common problem???
-
Frequent vomiting is not commonly reported with Denamarin tablets. The manufacturer reports that the active ingredients in Denamarin have been shown to be well-tolerated by both dogs and cats with a wide margin of safety. Please follow up with your veterinarian as this symptom may indicate a different underlying issue.
