HUGE SAVINGS!!!!!!
I was told that my new puppy had a collapsing trachea and will need cough medication for the rest of her life. I was devastated and doubly devastated when I found out how much they cost at my vet. I paid over $1.00/tablet. She was prescribed 1/4 tablet twice daily. The bigger she gets the more she will need of course. This puppy was a Christmas gift for my 7 year old and she LOVES her new baby but being a single mom I did my research and thought I found a healthy puppy. Surgery could also be a possibility one day ($6000). I thought we would probably have to find a new home that could better take care of my sick puppy until I found the medication (which seems to be working great by the way with no surgery in sight yet) on VetRX Direct website. It has been a lifesaver! My vet charges 10 times the amount that VetRx does for the exact same pills! THANK YOU VetRX Direct for making this situation a little easier and possibly making it possible to keep our new baby. You have been a blessing! I will always check prices on here before I ever buy from anywhere else again!

Same Medication Prescribed by Vet!
From UndisclosedComments about Cough Tablets 250ctMy dog Storm is 12 years old and has developed a persistent cough that my Vet can't explain or make go away. After many office visits and cough pill prescriptions, I started looking for something comparable online. I found VetRxDirect cough tablets and decided to give them a try...lo and behold, these are the EXACT SAME cough pills that my Vet was prescribing (but I got a lot more pills for less money). Storm will probably have this cough for the rest of his life, but these pills really reduce the amount and severity of his coughing. What a blessing! Thank you VetRxDirect for improving the quality of Storm's life. 🧡-

Helps with chronic cough.
From UndisclosedComments about Cough TabletsDanny is an older Pomeranian we adopted from our local shelter. He was a stray they took in an no one claimed. He has a chronic cough not attributed to heart disease. I tried these on a whim to see if they help and they really do. He still has the cough but not as much. I give him 1/2 a tab as needed and he seems much more comfortable.-

Q & A

My dog is taking Tussigon prescription is this compatible can I start this immediate in place of seeing the reviews it looks like its more natural.?
-
The active ingredients in Tussigon are homatropine methylbromide (1.5 mg) and hydrocodone bitartrate (5 mg). The active ingredients in Cough Tablets are guaifenesin (100mg) and dextromethorphan hydrobromide (10mg). Neither product is considered a "natural" or "herbal" supplement by the FDA. Both products are indicated to help stop coughing. If the Tussigon tablets are not helping your dog's cough, be sure to talk to your veterinarian about changing your dog's therapy plan. I ordered the cough tablets for my Pom. It says don't skip a dose. During the night do you have to set the alarm and wake up to give the dog her 4 hour dosage. Can you wait until the morning? ?
-
Your Pom will have better coverage for cough if they don’t skip a dose, but if your pet is sleeping through the night waking them up to take a dose shouldn’t be necessary. Thank you, VetRxDirect

can cough tabs and chlorpheniramine be taken together for cough in 15yr old Pomeranian, not bale to contact veterinarian until tomorrow??
-
It is extremely unlikely for there to be an interaction between cough tabs and chlorpheniramine. Using these medications for a short period of time should be safe. Follow up with your veterinarian to verify the appropriateness of these medications for your dog’s condition. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My 2 year old Pom mix had an antibiotic shot recently and I was givin these tabs to control her cough. She was ok with it yesterday but she is now lethargic and will not go to the bathroom ( although she urinated this morning). Is this normal? ?
-
Cough Tablets contain dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant) and guaifenesin (expectorant) which helps reduce cough and loosen up congestion to make the cough more productive. The manufacturer of this animal product doesn’t provide information regarding potential adverse effects for cats and dogs. In humans, dextromethorphan is well tolerated with low chance of adverse effects. Potential side effects noted are confusion, irritability, and excitement. The other active ingredient, guaifenesin, side effects are usually not long-lasting and are generally minor. Guaifenesin has been noted to cause sedation in pets though. Due to your pet’s recent infection, if you observe weight change, vomiting or diarrhea contact your veterinarian. We recommend contacting your veterinarian to discuss the change in your pet’s urination frequency. Thank you, VetRxDirect

dog is a 60 lb border collie, taking 100mg dextrorphan & hydrobromide for occasional bronchitis related cough. name on bottle is cough tabs will this product do the same thing? thanks?
-
The Cough Tablets that we offer (Creative Science, LLC) contain two active ingredients, 10mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 100mg of guaifenesin. While the dextromethorphan hydrobromide is included in the product to temporarily reduce cough, the guaifenesin, an expectorant, is included to help clear mucus. It is important to have your pet’s veterinarian verify that this combination of ingredients is safe and effective for your pet. Additionally, bronchitis may need to be treated with prescription medications like antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, or bronchodilators, especially in severe cases. The veterinarian can help you decide if an over-the-counter or prescription medication is best for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My 16 yr Maltese has developed a terrible cough for which he was prescribed 10mg of D-M-C. 1/2 tablet every 6 to 8 hours. He has developed a 'drunken walk' and can no longer do steps. Is this sort of thing a side effect or are there other issues??
-
Kakie, If your question is in reference to the Cough Tablets product containing 10mg of dextromethorphan and 100mg of guaifenesin, the answer is that Cough Tablets could possibly be causing the side effects you mentioned. Information on dextromethorphan and guaifenesin for use in dogs is limited, however, and you should follow up with your dog's veterinarian for further guidance relating to this concerning behavior. If the product you are referring to does not contain dextromethorphan and guaifenesin, please post a question with the full product name, so we can provide more detailed information. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My vet recomended dextromethophan 3mg/ml. She have collapse trachea, this is for her cough. Do you have 3 mg/ml??
-
Asia, The only product containing dextromethorphan that we carry are the cough tablets. Each tablet contains 10mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide. In order to give the dose recommended by your pet's veterinarian, you would need to give 3/10 of a tablet, which is very difficult, or impossible, to split. You would also be giving guaifenesin, which your pet's veterinarian may or may not recommend. You will probably need to look for a liquid form of dextromethorphan, which we do not carry. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Will this help cough if dog has a collapsed trachea??

my dog has been diagnosed with a collapsing trachea. how quickly does guafinesin and dex hydrobromide work??
-
Sandra, Oral guaifenesin is often used in veterinary medicine as an expectorant to help promote the removal of phlegm from the respiratory tract. This is commonly used if your pet has a productive cough. Dextromethorphan is an over-the-counter cough suppressant whose efficacy in dogs is questionable. If no signs of improvement are seen after a couple of doses follow up with your veterinarian for further medical advice. Thank you, VetRxDirect
