Does this product stop dogs from eating rabbit\deer poop??
-
CoproBan is a supplement used to deter cats and dogs from eating their own feces. It contains the active ingredient MSG that will make cats/dogs feces taste unpleasant to them in order to discourage consumption. CoproBan only works in the animals that consume the product, therefore it will not deter them from eating rabbit/deer feces, as those animals did not eat CoproBan. How long should coproban be needed to break the behavior of eating stools.??
-
CoproBan works by changing the texture and taste of the feces to discourage the behavior. For best results, the manufacturer recommends administering the product to all dogs in the household, as well as cats if your dog is eating from the litter box. Coproban should be given for 20 days, or until the bad behavior completely stops. The length of time will vary depending on your pet's habits.

Do I only feed it to cat or dog too? Dogs eat cat poop. Gross?
-
CoproBan works to discourage this behavior by making the feces have an unpleasant taste. If the dog is eating feces from the cat, CoproBan should be given to both the dog and the cat for best results.

Is this something that I will need to keep giving to my dogs indefinitely or is it something that will eliminate the habit or will they just start eating their poop again if I stop giving it to them??
-
Coproban is used to treat the habit of dogs and cats eating feces (coprophagia). This product makes feces taste unpleasant to dogs and cats. It contains MSG, monosodium glutamate, which is a known coprophagia deterrent. The manufacturer recommends using one full carton, then on an as needed basis after that. The goal is to reinforce that this behavior results in an unpleasant taste. You should talk with your veterinarian to rule out any health issues that can contribute to coprophagia. The veterinarian can also tell you if they agree with the manufacturer's recommendations and offer other behavior modification suggestions to resolve your dog's habit. Thank you, VetRxDirect
