Q & A

I was given lotion in dropper for dogs paw yeast infection. I make him wear a cone of shame so he won't immediately go hide and lick it. How long does it take to dry? How long should he wear the cone??
-
Drying times may vary; therefore, it is recommended to monitor the pet during the time of application and not allow the pet to lick or chew the area for 20 to 30 minutes after application. Other forms of distractions such as lickmats, play boards, or other activities can alleviate pets' stress while the medication is drying. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any further questions regarding this product.

Is the conzole 1% a liquid such as water or is it lotion? If liquid why is it listed as lotion? It has 60 CC of liquid. Is it suppose to be diluted with water??
-
Conzol 1% Lotion is a thin solution with the thickness of water intended for application to the skin. Topical application of a medication in a dosage form such as a cream, ointment or a traditional lotion, like hand lotion, may not be appropriate on areas covered in hair. A thin liquid will allow the drug to contact the surface of the affected skin without the unwanted result of the base clumping and getting stuck in the hair when applying to the skin. Conzol 1% lotion does not require further dilution with water.

My kitten was diagnosed with ringworm 1 week after being exposed to it by a Vet Technician who has active ringworm on her forearm. She handled my kitten to give him shots, to weigh him, etc., and exactly one week later he had a patch of hair loss in a circular pattern between his eye and ear, with very dry, ash colored, scaly looking skin. I took him back to the Vet, and they diagnosed him with ringworm without doing any kind of testing. The bottle of Conzol 1% lotion that was prescribed says to apply once a day, but the sticker that the Vet put on the bottle says to apply 2 to 3 times daily. I've been applying it 2-3 times daily yesterday and today, and now today that area is bright red and my kitten acts like it's hurting him when I apply the lotion with a cotton swab. I've clipped the fur around the infection as well as in the circular patch where he has lost most of his fur. He is only 9 weeks old and weighs 1.9lbs.?
-
According to the package insert, treatment with Conzol 1% lotion should be used once daily for 2 to 4 weeks and should be discontinued if irritation or sensitization occurs. Please contact your veterinarian about any further questions or concerns about the dosing that was prescribed.
