Significantly fresher breath and reduce plaque!
I was prescribed this for my 100lb 7 year old Ridge-back Golden Retriever. She had severe periodontal disease which was causing horrid bad breath as well as excessive gum recession. My vet was concerned if the gum recession continued at this rate Bailey was going to need her K9s pulled in the next 6 months. Due to how bad the recessions was brushing was not an option and caused Bailey severe pain and further damaged her gums. My options were antibiotic therapy (which was really pricey and could cause her further issues in the future) or try stringent dental regiment and expensive dental food). Rather than start with these pricier and much more invasive options, my vet recommended starting with Clenz-a-dent to help reduce the amount of bacteria in Bailey's mouth and avoiding the damage brushing would cause. I started her on this in January and the stuff has been amazing! After just 1 month, her breath was already fresher and the gum inflammation had reduced significantly. 5 months later her breath is fresh and her puppy kisses are now wanted rather than feared. Her gums are no longer bleeding, red or inflamed as well as the recession has stopped completely. Bailey is so much happier and can actually enjoy playing with her chew toys without the crying from before due to her sore mouth. I've been rinsing her mouth out after each meal, breakfast and dinner and the results have been shocking. She actually loves the flavor of the mouth rinse and gets excited when she sees the bottle, running straight for me. I highly recommend the product for anyone who's dog is pron to excessive mouth decay and gum recession as well as severe bad breath. Its a great substitute when brushing their teeth is impossible but make sure you pair it with chew toys and a dental chew. This combination has literally been a life savor for my puppy dog and now she gets to be a puppy again!!

It's ok...
Not really sure how well this works, but I use it and I keep buying it in hopes that it is helping reduce plague/tartar and inhibit new growth.

Blood -free brushing
From UndisclosedComments about Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse 8oz BottleManually brushing Thunderpaws China Doll's teeth resulted in bloody gums. Although the veterinarian said this didn't hurt the cat, it certainly distressed me. This rinse is quick to use and no bloody gums!-

This is the only product that has helped my boy.
From UndisclosedComments about Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse 8oz BottleI have used this product for most of my cats life. He is six years old. It helps reduce the redness on his gums. In the past I would purchase this at my Vets office. I went on hunt online to see if I could have it delivered and found your company. It was an easy process to order from you and it arrived quickly. Attached is my boy Dublin. Many thanks, Mary Ann Holt-

Works Great!!!!!
From UndisclosedComments about Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse 8oz BottleMy short haired tabby cat had ulcers in her mouth, all around inside her gums. She showed signs of discomfort when eating and just wouldn't drink water, always hiding or sleeping. Her breath was bad. The veterinarian suggested surgery, removal of her teeth, or euthanasia said surgery would be risky if by chance it could be cancer we were quite broken. Surgery was a-little over budget we decided to look for alternatives to help ease her pain. We use this rinse every time 10 min after eating. We paired it with Oratene Brushless Enzymatic Oral Care Gel every morning and night just rubbed in in with gloves all around her gums. Happy to say this rinse it working wonders! I completely recommend this. Her ulcers are pretty much gone her bad breath is gone and she's up being herself again❤️ -

So Far So Good
From UndisclosedComments about Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse 8oz BottleI've been using this a couple of times a week along with brushing for both of my cats, and I really feel that it helps their oral health. My orange tabby cannot get dental cleaning because of his heart condition, and so his teeth are in worse shape than my other cat's. I feel that this product reduces inflammation and allows his mouth to be clean. I notice that the day after I use it on him his gums are less red. Hoping this keeps him healthy! The only complaint I have about it is how sticky it is! I've gotten it on his fur and had a really hard time getting the stickiness out. #Sweepstakes -

Vet Rx Direct Was Great.. Clenz-a-Dent I'm Not Sure About.
From UndisclosedComments about Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse 8oz BottleThe main thing this review is about is Vet Rx Direct. That was the best transaction I've had in years. Shipped immediately and sent first class so it got here quickly. As for the Clenz-a-Dent, I bought it because one of my cats has an inflamed gum on one tooth. There's no tartar there, so there's nothing to clean. I hoped this would help. I've been using it for almost a month now and the area's still inflamed. Maybe less red than before, but definitely not healed. Will say that I loathe this bottle. It's impossible to use while exposing the gums and applying just a little of the solution. I put it in a regular squeeze bottle to apply and that is working out well as far as application. I'm using it on the other cats on the days I don't brush their teeth and a little squirt of this is much easier than trying to brush their teeth which they hate. -

Try it!!

My cavapoo has a very sensitive stomach, will this oral cleanse cause more issues with her stomach? Do you always need to use on a pup with a full stomach??
-
Chlorhexidine, the active ingredient in Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse, is an oral, antimicrobial rinse and if used as directed per manufacturer should have little to no effect on the stomach. The product has an orange flavoring which may make it more palatable for your dog. It may help to give it to your dog after a meal if your dog is prone to having an upset stomach, but ultimately you should consult your veterinarian regarding any further questions or concerns regarding this medication for your dog.

I recently got a Shih Tzu and he is a poop eater. (As much as I love him). Will this kill bacteria in the mouth from poop and keep them from spreading it??
-
Clenz-a-Dent rinse is indicated as an oral rinse for plaque reduction in dogs or cats. It contains chlorhexidine to help control and deter the growth of the bacteria in the mouth that contributes to gum disease and freshens breath. Currently, there is no information about this product killing fecal bacteria or preventing the spread of bacteria outside of the mouth.

Can chlorhexidine rinse be added to dog water dish?
-
The Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse is designed as an oral antimicrobial rinse that is intended to be applied to the gumline and provides a coating over the teeth and oral cavity to control and kill bacteria in the mouth. This product is not intended to be used as a water additive; there are other products available that are designed to work in your dog’s drinking water.

What is the "flavor" of this product. I have a similar product that has a spearmint flavor that my dog hates. He smells it from 10 feet away. I'm looking for a flavor that may be more palatable for him.?
-
According to the manufacturer, Clenz-A-Dent is an orange flavored, palatable formula.
Verified Answer -
It's not very palatable to a cat. My cat had no problem with unflavored chlorhexidine, which I can't find anywhere anymore. I got this and my car was foaming at the mouth immediately, poor guy. He lets me give him medicine no problem trust me giving him anything I've never seen him from at the mouth and he's 13. This tells me the flavor is horrendous. I could smell it, it's smells like orange Tylenol from when I was a kid. Why do they have to put a flavor in it at all? Dogs and cats will both allow you to put it in just the same if it has a flavor it's not going to allow you to put it in easier. Dogs will eat anything so it probably doesn't matter to them. I just think they need to remove the flavor completely.

Does Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse have to be put on the gum line on the left and on the right and on the top and bottom of both sides? If so, do you have any hints on keeping the pet still while the rinse is applied??
-
It is recommended that Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse is applied gently along the upper gum line; the rinse will rapidly disperse to cover the entire oral cavity. Chlorhexidine does not need to be applied to the bottom gum line unless otherwise directed by your veterinarian. Before using this product, shake the bottle well. When administering this medication, hold the bottle upright, below your pet's field of vision, it is recommended to remain calm, assertive, and persistent so that your pet understands the importance this medication. Avoid touching the gum with the applicator tip to prevent injury in case your pet moves. You should talk to your veterinarian regarding the proper use of this medication in your pet.

Can you use the clenzadent mouth rinse with chlorhexidine in the dogs water bowl? Like my vet said 1 capful. I am still not sure about this. What do you think think? Sincerely, Sandradee?
-
Chlorhexidine mouth rinse, brand name Clenz-a-dent Chlorhexidine Rinse, is to be used as a topical rinse for the gums and oral cavity. Ingestion of chlorhexidine in large amounts may cause gastrointestinal upset. Clenz-a-dent also comes as a 2-in-1 mouth rinse/water additive, brand name Clenz-a-dent Mouth Rinse / Water Additive , and is supplied with a measuring cup and spraying nozzle for dosing. This product contains RF2 (a unique active ingredient from vegetal origin) and does not contain chlorhexidine. Per the manufacturer, this product can specifically be added to water or used directly on a dog’s gum line for oral hygiene. It too may cause gastrointestinal upset in large quantities, but ingestion with water helps. It is important to follow-up with your pet’s veterinarian with any additional questions or concerns you may have. He or she will be able to assist you in making the best choice of therapy for you dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect
