Is this used for ringworm in cats??
-
Cefpodoxime is an antibiotic that is usually prescribed to treat bacterial infections of the skin and other soft tissues. Ringworm is a fungal infection. Usual treatments for fungal infections include griseofulvin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, and terbinafine. Your veterinarian may prescribe cefpodoxime to treat a secondary infection caused by ringworm or a separate bacterial infection responsive to cefpodoxime. Talk with your veterinarian to determine the best treatment for your pet's skin condition. Thank you, VetRxDirect

is a prescription needed to buy Cefpodoxime Proxetil (Generic) Tablets?
-
Laurel, Yes, cefpodoxime proxetil (branded as Simplicef) does require a prescription to purchase. Once an order is placed, we can send a fax to the veterinary clinic requesting approval for the prescription that they may fax back, or the veterinarian may opt to issue you a written prescription that you can then mail in to us. Thank you, VetRxDirect
